:ChinScratch: Might go with neighbor to do a bit of "Curb Shopping" to see what we can see. :P

Forecast is calling for strong storms this afternoon, so first thing will be to get the truck moved down the driveway away from the tall trees and bring in the larger of the wind chimes

Little Chevy is still in the shop, just need to wash the glass.  I can do that while it's raining outside this afternoon.

Saturday is a car show at the VFW in Warner Robins.  After this cold front pushes through this evening Saturday might be a real nice, cooler & breezy day, for a car show.

Sunday is our rescheduled Easter dinner.  Not everyone will be here that would have been earlier, but it will still be a crowd.

No woodworking in sight for me...

Yesterday, what started as a trip to Andersonville for BIL & myself, turned into a whole family outing.  Six adults, two kids.  Stopped at a Mennonite restaurant for lunch on the way and then spent some few hours at Andersonville.  I have a couple friends that are buried in the National Cemetery there, right now that will be my final resting place.  I did learn yesterday that if your ashes are scattered elsewhere you can still have a stone in the cemetery.

Try to get ready for Mother's Day. I'm sure the kinds/grandkids will be over to visit Marie Sunday, so I need to do some house cleaning.

Well, my Limbert table build just got even more weird. First off, they were supposed to be white oak. Mine are walnut. Second, the plans call for a 6/4 table top. My wallet rebeled at that! The tops then became more affordable mesquite. I'd planned to edge glue and, band saw round, 6/4 boards. Then, yesterday at the mesquite yard, we found three unsymetrical 6/4 mesquite rounds. All sequentially cut from the same log and roughly 30" across. Now, all that's needed is to clean off the bark and  resin fill the enevitible holes. They will not be bandsawn round! Won't be using veneer tape on THOSE edges. :TwoThumbsUp:If not weird, certainly unique.

While at the yard, we picked up a few Pistachio crotches to take to the BIL when we go to IL later this month. He'll turn something with them.

We got out of there having spent only $90.

Cheap, for a few good hours of fun. That doesn't count the great dinner (mid day meal);) we had, later.

Headed out in a few to meet up with daughter's fiancée. Going to look at his recently inherited '36 I-H PU, street rod. Well all the pieces parts, some/lots of assembly required. His great-uncle passed while build was in progress. Doing lunch after. Later errands. Tomorrow work day at church plus rescheduled soccer match. Both dependent on weather.

Don't forget, Sunday is Mother's Day. Good opportunity to buy your wife a new power tool for your shop + a dozen donuts. JK. She won't want the donuts so enjoy them.

Raining here all day, good time to start that pepper grinder, if I can remember the steps for turning one!

#1 Get it sized and mounted. From that point on I'm lost.

Got some fencing delivered to our home a few days ago, guess what dad is gonna start up this weekend! I purchased 3/4" cedar, not the usual 1/2" or 5/8". There really is a noticeable difference in the strength of 3/4" cedar or redwood fencing. The difference in price is negligible really. Under the white tarp are the pressure treated 2x4's for the cross members.

Wife and son are taking off to her home country of Panama, for three weeks leaving me and my oldest daughter to fend for ourselves. Hey, I might get something done now!

Good looking stack of cedar, John.

Phyl and I built a 5 planter boxes with it. It's  an easily workable wood. After getting a gifted scroll saw in my shop, I'll be using more of it.

It's some good wood Gene. Great for planters too like you said! Mama want's it stained, that's going to be the most time consuming part of it. My thoughts are I can install the fencing, then stain? I don't feel it's necessary to stain the back side of the boards since they are not viewable, the back will be facing our neighbors backside fencing using the same fence posts I share with our neighbor.

What do you think? Do I need to stain both sides for longevity? We are dry out here, it is So Cal.

IMHO, no you don't especially in your climate. If you don't have one, I'd rent a sprayer to apply the stain once the fence is up unless you're doing the whole Karate Kid thing...left hand UP...right hand, DOWN...

What happens if the neighbor moves and the new tenants tear down the fence?

I betcha that if you only stain one side, it'll cup.

Rain, rain, rain, despite my plans based on the "First False Weather Forecast" early in the week for warm and sunny.  Neighbor's entire front yard was under water this morning.  Down by noon and more rain right now.

But, hey, I'm going to be rich, $1 at a time

School tomorrow, gotta renew my electrician licenses, they expire at the end of June. I still need 6 more hours to meet my obligations. Sunday morning is a visit to the cemetery to drop off some flowers for Mum, and then a cookout at the M-I-L’s.
