Have all the Grandkids here for the weekend so it should be lots of fun. It’s supposed to be mid 80’s so they will be in the pool a lot. They have requested that I BBQ hotdogs and hamburgers so that’s what I will be doing.

Was able to get a couple of wood species i haven't used before this past week. One is qtr. sawn Sycamore. The yard had very little of it and i took about 4 pieces of 5/4. To my chagrin, they don't have a lot of the pronounced fleck that it's known for, though one piece did have enough of it to make my [project work ( a small treasure box, our oldest is expecting his first grandchild in a few months). The second is some red elm. It has a really pronounced grain that I find attractive. No plans for this yet. One a sucky note, the trip (about 160 miles round trip) caused me to have to fill the truck, the first time in maybe 6 weeks or so. $100.51! That was only for 26 gallons, the tank is 37 gallons.

Sitting in Lowe's nursery, waiting on Phyl. She's looking for more flowers and some floor cleaner/polish. Next stop...Target for a pool noodle we'll use to protect our new ash trees from rope burn.  And, possibly switch our phones from Verizon to Consumer Cellular.

I'm sure there will be more stops. Phyl will tell me.

Might get into the shop after midday meal...that's dinner for us.:OldManSmiley:

Out and about early today to the Emerald City. First stop was a haircut...that took 15 minutes out of the day. Next stop was Rural King for various bird, pet supplies, PU a new "hole shooter" + related items, then a couple more quick stops before returning home. Need to finish unloading then hope to finish mowing yard after being rained out yesterday.

Soccer match tomorrow AM unless it gets rained out. Church Sunday. Mrs Grandma Grandpadave wants to go plant shopping after. Might try some sorting, cleaning, organizing in garage if I can get good behavior early release.

Been busy but it's only going to get busier. Grandsons track meet Saturday morning, get the camper ready to go in the afternoon, then Granddaughters dance recital Saturday night . Sunday the Granddaughter has a band concert and then it's time to hit the road again. I sure hope the weather stays nice next week.

Eileen is headed to Lowell to see her new grand daughter, I will not be able to to make that horrible drive across Rt 2 as I have a slight cold. So I will be home with the dog, sitting in my lawn chair, burn brush on the last day of permitted brush burning, pending of course the determination of Eastern Mass having the proper Air Quality.

There may or may not be a beer, or two, nearby.

Worked on the tiller yesterday. The crank throw out stripped its threads on shaft so had to order part today. Looks like the transmission needs oil.

This morning we went to a local school to set up lathe and do a little training, more in the future. Maybe finish cleaning up shop tomorrow.

Yard sales this morning....working on Table legs this evening....Otherwise, I am doing as little as I can get away with....even less if the Boss will allow..

My Friday was a total bust...as far as shop work was concerned. We managed to find everything Phyl wanted in town, though.

Today won't be much better for shop time, either. We're taking our son, DIL and granddaughter out for a Sushi and Sake lunch. I would have preferred a supper but, neither Phyl, nor I, want to (or can) drive home over the mountains in the dark. Shoot. It's scary enough in broad daylight. Last week, we made that trip and, passed a tow truck, ambulance and police car, assembled to rescue a sight see'r from Cal. who must've not seen the 25 mph sign and, missed the curve. It was right at the highest and curviest part of the pass. It's a looong way down.

Daughter came in for the weekend, and made me a birthday cake :D

I installed the dash cam in her new car for her.  In the shop I will be spraying some clear satin paint on a picture frame this morning to call that job done.  I will have two styles of frames for SIL to choose from for her painting, and our daughter can likewise look at them and tell me which she prefers for some of her art work.

Next in the shop will be cleanup and bring the Chevy Colorado back in for what I hope will be the final detail, wash, wax, install seat covers and tonneau cover.

And dragging the hose around with a sprinkler for the yard.  Not sure what this "rain" thing is that some of you talk about...

Got a call right before leaving for work this morning.  Store Manager died in his sleep last night.

Yeah, he had been feeling under the weather but wouldn't go to doctor. Or take time off. Plus end of month stress over sales is off the chart In retail.  65 years old.
