Appreciate the kind words and encouragement.  Trying new things is always a challenge and learning experience.

Thanks to everyone who has been submitting to this turning section of the forum.  I have read pretty much all of it and learned a lot.

I only got to this point by sucking up the knowledge and wisdom here and where you guys pointed me.

    Nice job ! Ipe is nasty stuff but should make a great mallet. Jatoba is another one to steer clear of. Very similar to Ipe in toxicity and ability to dull chisels.
