September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post I don't think it's Monday So, Happy Friday everyone. Used to be I at least knew what day of the week it was. Not much happening here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" waiting for everything to get caught up to us or is it for us to get caught up to everything? So, What's on your weekend agenda?
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post I've gotten a late start today... Have a bunch of errands to run this morning, may go ahead and get a flu shot if I can inject that into my schedule as I drive by the phamacy. I want to start on a couple of shadow boxes this weekend. Yard work, a ball game or two. No "excitement" planned.
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post After the rain we got this week I may have to mow the lawn. It's been 2 weeks so probably just as well.
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post Haven't been able to work on outdoor cabinets. Several small jobs came up to do. Water heater for one friend, now a dishwasher and some new deck steps.
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post I'm going to try to get back to the cocobolo bowl Sunday. I also need to process some bowl blanks and clean up the shop...a bit. .40
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post It's all about mom this weekend! Elder mom visits, etc, getting ready to head out the door and have breakfast with LOML and we are both heading to mom's facility. We are working on getting her out of there and back in her own home, the logistics of that is overwhelming, but do-able. Hoping to get in the shop a little tomorrow, if only for an hour, if I can pull the car out of the garage, and stand in the middle of it, and just smell the wood and sort some tools out, I'll be a happy camper!

Sending prayers and strength to you and Mrs Morris on that daunting task. I know the emotional toll it can take.
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post Finishing up some errands that need done today. Have to cut the grass and sand and finish a little table I am making.
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post Irrigation job is done....with the exception of 150' of 1/4" line with emitters every 5'. That'll be done this winter. Now, the job of backfilling all the trenches and re spreading the drive way rocks. That's a job for this PM and tomorrow morning when it's cooler. Might take two evenings and two mornings.
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post Friday was Knee Rehab Day....new knee brace seems to be much better than the stappy old one....Garage sales this weekend....not much else..
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post Public Service Announcement: A couple of months ago I purchased a Ryobi 40v 18" chainsaw. Convenience was a big factor. I really didn't want to keep 2 cycle oil and a gas can around since, other than our cars, nothing else around the house runs on gasoline. Steer clear of this item. Don't waste your time, money, or energy. Leaks bar and chain oil just about as fast as you can pour it in. Battery life is horrible. Extra batteries are ~$100. The anti-kickback throttle control lasted about 2 logs. After that it runs under load 5-10 seconds before having completely release the triggers and start over. Customer service is remarkably lousy... as in ZERO help. Glad I made this purchase with my Home Depot card. They took it back no questions asked. Bought an Echo 18" gas powered, oil and pre-mixed canned fuel. Came out $7 ahead. I didn't know pre-mixed fuel was even a thing. Learn some thing new everyday. .40
September 17, 20214 yr Popular Post Seussical set construction. 3 platforms to put on legs - 2 at 6' diameter, one at 8x12 ellipse. Tapered posts for guard rails, pocket hole screwing for rolling cages. And probably some other stuff, depending on number and skills of those who show up
September 18, 20214 yr Popular Post Have God daughter and boyfriend here for the weekend so probably won’t get much done on the media room. They want to go explore a ghost town/mine that is near here tomorrow. Paul
