Friday already? :WonderScratch:

What the heck happened to the rest of the week?

,... I forgot , it'll take "Two Weeks" to get here. :P

:ChinScratch: So,...What's on your weekend agenda?

  • Popular Post

I missed a day some kinda way this week!

I thought all day yesterday was Wednesday, and only find out that today is Friday...

I guess I will spend a bit of time trying to track down my lost day and figure out what I did! :JawDrop:

Thursday got wiped out...have to wait and see what today brings....

Marie has to have a Covid test, no big deal...but we have to drive to Cincinnati to get (90 miles one way). She's having another endoscope next Thursday (followup to one she had some months back) and this test is required by UC health before the procedure. So today is mostly shot for me. For the rest of the weekend, depending on the weather I'll be working on getting the yard spruced up for Labor Day.....amazingly it's 2 weeks from Monday.

Check with drug stores.  They should be able to do the test.

In this case the provider is insisting (apparently) on doing the test themselves.:BangingHead:

Wave hi when you pass by.  Going to West Chester, I presume?

Have another box elder bowl about ready to come out of the drier. If its dry, I'll start that. Baby sitting a dog on Saturday, that will be interesting.

I'll honk the horn. Yep, the EGD will be followed by a surgery...that might happen in West Chester or down at the main campus (where I haven't been in over 45 years) depending on what they find Thursday. It turned out the procedure she needs (removal of a large benign polyp) can't be done locally. The Docs wanted us to go to Cleveland (nope, no way) at first, then Columbus (that didn't work out) and now UC Health. Funny, the West Chester campus is a straight 90 miles drive down I-75, then exit and you're there.....don't know why the Docs didn't start with that option.

Got a needed 2 inches of rain last night. Just resting up this morning and some shop time in afternoon. Tomorrow will use up that rest as I do the audio/video needing concentration on the screens during the meeting . Fun but I just don't have the stamina I used to. Glad Gunny and Steven are taking a break as I need some rest just watching all that.:CowboyPistol:

I visit there often (unfortunately).  It's a bit of a drive for me, but no rush hour traffic and parking problems.

Got some more double 2X6 shelves to hang in the shop. Then continue to unpack and organize tools. Hopefully one day soon, I'll be able to do some actual woodwork. Gawd, what a concept!

This morning's quickie in the shop....Plane 2 bevels to better match up to the lid.   Install the piano hinge ( surface mount) around back..:Cheer:

All this AFTER moving this heavy thing to the top of my bench...:JawDrop:

Give the entire outside of the case a brushed on "seal coat" of stain...then...add a pair of handles to the sides of the case ( so I can carry it around better)

One on each side...fun part was getting them level, and close to the same spot...a lop-sided carry just doesn't work all that well..

Then install the knob and 2 lockable latches..

Those black squares?:WonderScratch:

Are Rosewood plugs....as soon as the stain hit them..they turned black..:DevilLaughing:

Letting this thing sit  most of the day, to dry out..:ChinScratch:

Then see about a second coat of stain...after that?

Stay tuned...:cowboy:

And...after both a second coat of stain (where needed) and wiped down..a coat of Amber Shellac was brushed on...B)

Will see how it looks in the morning.   At least the lid's top looks good..

Might need a rub-out?  We'll see how things look..

Stay tuned..:cowboy:

No woodworking this weekend.  Extracted honey on the assembly table and working on filtering it, melting wax, cleaning up honey drips, etc.    Mowed the lawn, picked the garden, did laundry, etc.   Granddaughter is spending the evening and night and she's doing the piano at two churches tomorrow morning.

Friday was my birthday.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Happy belated birthday, Keith.  So, you are 39 again.

Steven, your rosewood gave me an idea.  Could you chisel out the front of the dovetail face and put in those rosewood plugs?  I think it would be a very different look.

Got both yards mowed this week, purchased a tune up kit for the riding Toro, kept the 2 grandchildren and cooked for them.  Will start on a steamy locomotive tomorrow.  Can't wait.  Have some touch up painting to do.
