July 19, 20214 yr Popular Post Thanks, John. Mr. House is a real craftsman. Have you got your order in? By the end of the week, I should be nailing up my pallet slat wall. One more step in completing the shop.
July 19, 20214 yr Popular Post All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I must need sharpening by now...it's been too hot to inhabit the shop in the afternoons here. Update on the water cooled GPU mod for my gaming PC. IT WORKS LIKE A CHAMP! Even under very heavy loads it stays cool as a cucumber. @Gunny...I attached a water pump, radiator and a fan to a thingy in my computer. Spent some time slaying dragons in Skyrim SE with over 1000 mods installed. Set to run at 60fps@4k resolution. Another busy week at the J.O.B ahead. .40

Never got to ride in one when I worked on them so this might be the next best thing.
July 19, 20214 yr Popular Post We have a mix of rain expected next few days. As long as it's light I plan to continue pressure washing house. If it gets worse than that maybe some shop time. Wednesday is out, will be at Mother's getting her to do list done.
July 19, 20214 yr Popular Post This past week and this upcoming week, just hanging out in the Gulf of Mexico making sure these roughnecks keep all their digits! Some pretty cool sunsets, though.

July 19, 20214 yr Popular Post Lew, I agree with the sunrises/sunsets in the Gulf of Tonkin. Also, I would love to know that you get a turn in an A-6 Intruder. Gunny, I see too many situations with cars and trucks like that. My neighbor took his Chevy truck over a retainer wall and lost his front bumper. Wow! Last week was a sad week. Dad's baby brother expired on Tuesday, visitation on Thursday and ceremony on Friday. He lived longer than anyone with our name in our family in 200 years that we have records. He would have been 78 in August. Otherwise, I purchased a light gray blue for the house, but when applied it was almost sky blue. Going to buy a gallon of gray and mix into the other blue so it will be closer to what was originally desired. Then will get into the shop, wax the Shopsmith and make a steamy engine from some Christmas tree stumpies. Can hardly wait. And, with all this rain, that grass is growing too fast. Keeping me physically fit painting and mowing.

I suppose there is some consolation in knowing he outlived the others but still sad to lose a family member.
July 19, 20214 yr Thad, just curious as to your location along the Gulf of Mexico. I am up near Mobile, AL, about 50 miles from it. That appears to be open sea.
July 19, 20214 yr Popular Post It's monday, alright. Successfully made a cactus deposit at the land fill. Then another deposit of mesquite and creosote branches. Felt good about that. Was looking forward to the rest of the day in the shop. Not to be! Phyl's wall hung 12 station mop and broom rack crashed to the floor. Dry wall anchors let go! Spent the last 4 hours constructing and installing a new one from oak and, screwing it to the studs. This one's 49 1/2" long and can handle 16-20 broom/mop handles. Why so many brooms and mops? Don't ask! I did and was told when I start doing all the house cleaning, I can have my desired compliment of tools.
July 20, 20214 yr Popular Post Gunny, I'm not sure why that guy was in a hurry to get his brakes fixed...he had at least another 300-400 yards left on them! I've seen some worn out rotors and drums in my day, but never any as bad as that.
July 20, 20214 yr Looking for yhpruM, the little S.O.B. cost me $131.88 to have the Pilot towed about 1.25 miles. Cruising along fine, battery light came on engine shut off. Of course I had to break down in the never ending construction zone out front.

Need to undercut 3 door jams today & then start installing the underlayment, flooring arrives Monday & if yhpruM stays away cabinets should be here 2 days after that.

I've got to get it moved from next door before I can tear it down further. I tried telling the tow truck driver that it would be easier for him to drop it next door. Had to of course break down in the construction zone out front of our place. The tow truck driver told me "I can back in anywhere", and when we pulled up by my place I told him you have to make a 90° turn right behind those bushes. He looked at me and said, "F that driveway, where's next door"? We only had the one lane traffic backed up about 1/4 mile at that point. I'll pull it in the driveway around the back way through the yard. Neither of the cams are seized, I can move both.
