Friday again folks. :D

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we've been trying to work around the weather.

I need to pull the front bumper cover off of the Pilot so's I can add driving/fog lights. From the instructions it looks like a fun job. <_<

Just hope yhpruM doesn't show up.

:ChinScratch: So,... What's on your weekend agenda?

1. Getting my Shopsmith running, again.

2. Putting a top on the bench.

3. Resume trimming and sizing pallet boards.

4. Naps.

But first and formost, finding and expelling yhpruM! He's caused enough problems, lately.

First thing is to inspect the coffee table finish to see if it passes inspection.  I wasn't too happy with the vertical surfaces yesterday and ended up doing each side on edge (horizontally).  I didn't finish up until last evening.

I think my next project is a rebuild of a stand up desk.  It is a purchased unit with metal legs, and an adjustable stretcher to accommodate wider desk tops.  I've been told that my mission, should I decide to accept it, is to fab up a new stretcher to allow the legs to be set further apart - and of course this will also require a new top for it.  Just like the tv show, all I've seen is a picture and verbal description of the desired outcome...

Doesn't sound like an Impossible Mission. Probably won't even need your team. Tell Jim he can sleep in.:D

Still working through the whatchamacallit oak from my neighbor's tree.  While on the one hand, it was a bad tree that dropped a branch and smashed a fence and a pickup, it does have some nice grain.  :)

Started on one of the big crotch grain pieces that I cut last week.  I've got the outside cut and I'm awaiting the arrival of my Easy chuck to turn a tenon on the bottom.  Plan to get the "other half" to this stage at some point this weekend.

:Tapping: Good luck with that one, he hides real good and shows himself at the worst possible time. <_<

Worked on rough turning IMG_0488.jpeg.14644e2809790a45fc86d79d5bbfbee7.jpeg"the other half" of the whatchamacallit oak crotch.  By the time I cut out a large bark inclusion, I ended up with more of a shallow form that I was aiming for.

Sons came over with chain saws and we finally got rid of all of those noxious chollas plus, we trimmed a few mesquite and creosote trees. The truck is fully loaded with the result. Dump run after my VA clinic lab work at 09:00. It's 30 mi. to the clinic and, 30 mi. back. Most of the trip to the VA is through the Saguaro National Monument park. A very hilly, curvy road which dictates speeds of 35 MPH or, less. So, about 3 hours is shot for that trip. Might make it to the dump by noon. But then, it's back to making sawdust, trimming those pallet boards. Breaking down those pallets and salvaging the slats has been laborious and time consuming but, necessary in order to maintain my Anti-Disposal Specialist rating. :D

Got the back of the house painted, but not the right color.  Thinking of how to correct the color.

Went to the doctor on Wednesday for my annual checkup.  My cholesterol is down to 108, my total sugar is half of what it was, liver and kidneys look good.  He examined my legs for some strange reason and now he wants me to return in 6 months.  And, because in my more immature years, I smoked a little, he wants a catscan of my lungs.  And, my labs next time are nonfasting labs.  No longer do I have to get Hardee's biscuits, smell them on the way to the labs, then rush back to the car after the labs.
