Friday March 12th 2021-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again folks, and this month is already almost half gone.

Some of you may have seen that I (literally) will be removing one of my long time machine searches from my "Bucket Wish List".

This is what's in the bucket.

It will end up as part of a combination unit.

It's missing a few parts, but I have most of the missing pieces except one.

Now I'm waiting for the weather to cooperate, so I can get the electrolysis tank set up. :Tapping:

:ChinScratch: So... What's on your weekend agenda?

Woodworking has come to a short stop for me. MY DC is in need of some TLC it seems. The motorkeeps blowing start caps so I'll be taking the DC down this weekend to get to the motor. Cie la vie...or something like that!

Working on workbenches for the shed shop....  plus possibly having my electrician install two more outlets for me in the shed.

Make sure you explain "Change Orders" and cost overruns.  Don't forget the necessary to allowance in the quote.

@Larry Buskirk I keep thinking what a unique piece of equipment that is.  I like it.

Had a couple teeth pulled yesterday and they said nothing strenuous for a few days and fumbling around the shop isn't so I'll do that.

I've been after one for about 20 years.

Some of the missing parts I've probably had for about 15 years.

I've also got most of the attachments, Delta used the same attachments with their 9" wood lathe.

The fence was missing along with the hold downs, but I've had those for at least 15 years. The curved hold down rods are the same as the ones for the drill press mortice attachments. The straight rods are simply 2 3/4" long so easily made.

This is the part I need to find, or make a suitable replacement for. (photos from the web)

We were supposed to go to the boat this weekend and spruce her up. It’s raining here so we may have to cancel crossing the desert. We finally made the decision to put her on the market. It’s going to be a traumatic event for all of us to let her go. She was our home for seven years and 38,000 miles of sailing. But it’s time. Since we are not going it’s back on the media room.

Should be able to assemble all the finished parts and have a drying rack operational.

C'est la vie.  (that is the life)

I am still shocked at how much French I remember from 50 years ago.   I really studied it hard.

We are having a virtual club meeting tomorrow.  It will be on hand plan tuning.  Looking forward to it.

Don't forget, Sunday is pi day! (3/14)   Have a piece for me.

One of my dad's HS classmates (of all 12 of them) was a woodworker and had one of those Delta table saw - jointer combo machines.  Not sure if it was that exact one or not.  IIRC, you had to swap a belt to get from one function to the other.

Sod and compost was delivered Wed. evening.  I spent all day Thurs. spreading compost to level the ground which was hard as a rock and laying sod.  Finished all six pallets on Friday morning.  The afternoon was spent watering it in and fitting the last two drawer faces for the dresser build.

This morning I plan to use the lawn tractor with a trailer full of concrete blocks to go over all the sod to pack it down.

Our son is coming in this evening for a visit!  First visit home for him since Christmas 2019 :)  He plans to spend the week, working remotely; so while he will be busy during the day we will get to visit in the evenings.

OSB can be edge banded. My helper wanted to know, so we did a small project for the shop.  Will hold a clock and a thermometer. He was quite proud of himself. Joints came out tight.

Coned beef and cabbage is on the menu. Substitute Dos Equis for the Guinness. The liquor store guy's name is Miguel O'Malley.;)

Already had two corned beefs in the last month, including 3 meals this week.  Didn't even have enough left over for some ruebens.  You can call me Keith O'Mealey

And got the book stands cut and glued up today.   They really are equilateral triangles, just camera distortion.
