December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post ...Friday again? ...Wonder what the heck happened to Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday? So......What's on your weekend agenda?
December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post My wife is baking for the holidays. With her disability, this is a long draw out process for her so I'm just trying 1) stay out of the way, and 2) run and get whatever she doesn't have on hand. Otherwise, I may be able to finish framing a drawing she's had laying around for some time....waiting for me to get to it.
December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Son will be home from Merchant Marine Academy. And needs some work done on his car.
December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post I've been toying with an idea to improve the dust collection at my lathe. Some designing, some building, some tearing apart and rebuilding.

December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Waiting on my band saw to get delivered tomorrow another two bowl blanks on order, if everything goes to play I have a new way to work out how to get the new lathe I want but that will have to wait.... I also have a green wood birch bowl that I need to finish up and get hollowed out and placed in wood shavings to dry out.
December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Cleaning the shop (still, again, whatever). Two buckets of kindling for a neighbor with a wood stove. Emptied 30 gal of wood chips from the separator (garbage man won't be happy again. I'd compost, but contains a fair amount of black walnut that's toxic to plants.) A few more coats of finish on the piano keyboard desk I've made. Put HF magnetic tool holders on the inside lid of the tool boxes for grandsons. Unfortunately, they will not be able to get together with us for Christmas. Tomorrow is a Zoom vocal recital with granddaughter and a HS band Zoom concert in the evening. Got the plans for the Shaker berry box and thinking about making a few of those.

I've taken 3 or 4 boxes over for my DIL already, with more to follow. Getting the shop cleared of all the odds-n-ends that accumulated from working on projects for our son's place. Really starting to miss that.
December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post We're having two patios poured on Saturday. Since both will cover the two house entrances, we're escaping to our son's house for the night. Sunday will be whatever the LOML deems necessary. With what's left of today, I'm gonna try to get some more demo done in the shop space. Should have it all opened up by next week.
December 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Building a custom flag case for a customer in Massachusetts and two walnut and cherry charcuterie boards for a lady in Vermont.
December 18, 20205 yr Haven't felt very good the last couple of days...going to take a few days off... may take a nap..

A friend told me he was drinking a brand name seltzer while watching a school function on zoom. Next day they have pop up ads on the computer for seltzer drinks. CREEPY, but really not surprising!

Oh yeah, well on his way to a good career, either in the military or as civilian. Will be interesting for him, challenging and at times a royal PITA. Just wait till we move to Ukraine where I will be a member of the Police Department, AND the Ukrainian Army. Oh the fun paperwork he has to fill out explaining how his Father is a member of a Foreign Military. They will enjoy having to contact me for his security clearance. Most likely someone from the US Embassy in Ukraine. That will be fun stuff. Edited December 19, 20205 yr by Gunny
December 19, 20205 yr Receiving gifts from Amazon and I hope a couple from Brussels. The Legos in Brussels has been in the U. S. Post Office in the Netherlands since Dec. 10. No updates as of yet. Strange that I tried to purchase a particular set of Legos from Target online and when I clicked on the icon, I was sent to the Lego distributor in Brussels. Yep, credit card department of the credit union called the next morning to verify that I had made the transaction. That felt good. Other gifts coming from Amazon get removed from their shipping containers and wrapped immediately. Made chili today. Not bad. Also, making 5 pens to give to neighbors this holiday season. And yes, from the fat pine. Bored the holes today and will get them turned maybe on Sunday, not sure. It is supposed to rain most of the weekend. Gunny, you had a neighbor's young man to spend some time with you last spring I think before he joined the military. Have you heard from him? And, if you have, how is he?
