I was in that camp, with 700+ CD’s.

...Only 700?

I’m an Amazon Premium Music subscriber.  I have an old laptop in the shop so I stream different genres of music depending on my mood.  Works well for me.

I found when I bought CD’s I had more say in the Group/musician, than I did with the other means LOL. Most were from the discount rack, and mail order clubs with multiple buy 1, get 2 half price, and with coupons for more discounts on future purchases. I think I may have personally bankrupted them :)

You may have kept them in business a few years longer!  And you may have bankrupted them when you stopped buying :BugEyeSmiley:

Our son talked me into trying an Alexa Echo. I love it, even after figgerin in the $10 a month.

Call me paranoid, but I won't knowingly invite amazon and google into my house to snoop even more than they already do.  Weaned from facebook too.

I’m not worried about it. I’m old, boring, do nothing illegal, immoral, unscrupulous, let them worry about me if they want to. I have 111 hours of music stored in my library on Spotify, and can access all of it, by voice command. While I was sanding and painting all the parts for the trees, I was listening to the same CD until I could stop, clean hands, and switch CD’s. This was driving me crazy (well maybe just putting the finishing touches on it LOL). So I really like it.

I’m with you Artie. I think I’m clean except for the fact I did vote for Nixon so they can snoop all they want 😈

I stopped buying, when they went out of business. Started buying cassettes, then got a CD player for the car. With all the freebies, I’m guessing I paid 3-4$ a CD.

I have SeriusXM radio in my shop. It cost $5 a month.

Do you get through an over the air antenna? Or through WiFi?

It it a SeriusXM receiver that picks it up from their satellite. I have it plugged into the aux in my boom box. They sent me the receiver for free and it cost $5 a month for the service.

So this would probably work in a basement where am/fm radio doesn’t receive a signal?

There is an antenna that has to go outside to pick up the satellite. It is on a 15 or 20 foot cord.

The antenna is small. It is around 2 inches square and half inch thick.

I have been channeling Christmas music via YouTube.    But not in the shop.

That is what we have been doing also.   Danl

There is a much easier way to get YouTube or Sirius XM in the shop. Both are available on your phone as apps using wifi and then you can either send it to a stereo in the shop or use headphones. I use the Bose Bluetooth headphones which are noise canceling and work great. They also make earbuds that do the same thing. The headphones are very comfortable and I can wear them for hours in the shop. The noise canceling is very effective for hearing protection.

My cell phone is a flip phone from Consumer Cellular. I’m not sure it takes apps. But it is 20$ a month cheaper than our last carrier.

Mines from Cricket, I hate "Stupid Phones". They don't see me, I'd turn one into a Frisbee within 5 minutes. :DevilLaughing:
