Having finished the corner clamp set up I am moving down the wall to refit things to accommodate the braces and such used previous to clamp storgae build.  First in line was a new expanded charging station.  This time I built in expansion for future chargers.  Last version was meant for two, and a add on as minor expansion.  That plan worked okay for awhile.

Following @steven newman 's lead I started with fitting the pieces together then a glue up.   I made a frame of 1 1/32 square pine boards and then cut a recess out for the 1/2 inch plywood.  This gives me a gap behind the unit to stuff the excess charging cords.  Also gave me rom to run the electrical from the bottom to the top timer, then onto the power strip.

Always those chargers than make life complicated.  This Black and Decker drill a friend gave me has a puny charger you cannot mount to the wall.  So I made a shelf for it.  Then when I test fitted the Ryobi chargers they stuck out more if I mounted to the unit then if I mounted to a shelf and let then stand upright.  No problem, as Steve says, we have ways.

View from top of unit to see the back wiring, even added a proper box for it all.  Soldered the stranded wire together so it is not coming apart.  @Artie will like that touch.

Once that was done I went and labeled what goes where and dated the box so we know those things if needed.

And now finally with all the finish work done I am ready to install the unit and see everything fits.  The holes above or around each charger allow me to feed the excess wire into the cavity behind.  No mess, and no modifications to the charger wires needed.  This way if I need to take a charger with me just unplug, pull wires out and go.  Ya never know this might be genius or maybe I never use this option. :ChinScratch:  Red painted top is a warning to NOT put screws here!  This is where the electrical cord is hidden that goes to power strip.  The timer is set when I need something charged.  It goes off, and entire station is cold.  No weirdness with fires and overheating and such.  In theory.  2nd part of this is that the chargers cannot top off a battery using up it's lifetime of expected charges.  Have used this type of set up several times over the years, seems to work.  This by far is largest one with 6 chargers total.

And finally I made a box to store the charged batteries so that small issue is handled.  It doubles as a holder for my frame jig.  Killed to birds with one stone with that idea.  Corner project now completed.  Moving on to other stuff.

You know someone’s gonna give you a cordless tool for Christmas, that isn’t a brand of charger you have set up.right? LOLOL

Exactly, that's why I made it bigger and the power strip has 2 more spots open.  Now the back cavity might be getting a bit full..:D  I also put both of my M12 chargers up, thinking I might upgrade to M18.  The new M18 charger has similar footprint so it would fit where a M12 was previously.  In theory this should handle at least 2 maybe 3 more chargers.  After that I gotta find a new spot, no more room in this corner.  :ChinScratch:

Sold this older charging station to the neighbors friend.  Minus the chargers of course.  Can handle 3 chargers, and nothing else.  Guy loved the look and said he had same two chargers.

That looks great.  I sure wish that they would come up with a standard when it comes to charging a portable tool. One charger takes all. Sure would be great.

Looks great Gunny. In my shop re-org I am going to consider something similar. BTW, I am shameless when it comes to copying the good ideas of others. Where did you get the long outlet strip?

By all means use whatever you like.  :D  Every once in awhile I have these genius ideas.  Usually followed by a decade or so of stupidity.

Power strip I got from here:  8 outlet power strip

The charging station is great.  I would like to know a bit more about the corner clamp hanging beside it.  Care to pull it down and give us the particulars?

I decided about 5 years ago to stick with one brand of battery tools, shop & yard, & went with the green 18 volt lithium batteries. They are all 18V batteries but have different amp/hour ratings & they all fit all the tools regardless of A/H rating. I like the lithium battery & they hold up well, they run full power and don't wind down and quit, they just quit.

I have accumulated 5 batteries & chargers with A/H ratings from 3-4.9 depending on the tool I bought. I thought this idea of sticking with one manufacturer would work well but it didn't. I now have 5 chargers of various sizes and any charger will charge any battery. So much for the plan.

i'm guessing we'll never live to see the "universal" battery for tools like what's being working in europe.  :(

Will take a picture tonight.  It fits on corner of tablesaw and is used for box or frame assembly. It has fingers that are double jointed so they can support the assembly as you put it together.

I am sticking to one brand too. Other older tools failed but I still have the batteries after the drill failed, but the flashlight still works fine. Now I have a battery lawn mower and different brand, voltage and charger too. I am sticking with one brand, however when someone gave me a battery mower, I couldn't say no

Here ya go,  typically I use it to assemble a drawer, box, or let us say two pieces of wood and be square.  This holds it steady and level waiting for me to glue, screw, or brad nail something together.  Work surface is some white Formica, glue doesn't stick to it and easy to clean up.  Rest is pine or edge banded plywood for stability.  All the wood showing is finished with semi gloss poly, again easy clean up and keep the wood from looking dingy.

This is a drawer.  The fingers are double jointed so they can support just about any size I am working with.

They are stored away and stay in place using some 12mm magnets on the bottom of the fingers and the top of the jig.

Can do a fairly small box such as this.

Stays in place in the saw by using the fence rail.

And stays held down to the saw by this arm that swings under the bottom on other side.

That is the grand tour.  Posted this on another site years ago.  Got the meh reaction and figured it was not much to talk about.  Works well for me and has for 15 years or so.  Version one was made in 2012.  This is version 2, ungraded in 2017.  The big fix was the double jointed arms to support the work as well as the magnets to hold them.  While I can do larger stuff I mostly use this for drawers and boxes about 24 - 30 inch long.  Very small stuff we have to break out small angle clamps and do it the hard way.  One big kicker with this jig is the size.  Hard to find a spot that is easy to get at and put back, and not be in the way.

That right there is pretty slick Gunny!  I have a pair of the corner clamps that I use for assembly of picture frames and can see that this would really kick their usefulness up into overdrive.  Same with drawer assembly.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to do this. ;)

That is a great corner jig. I love the idea of the double jointed leveling idea.

Gunny, your shop organization posts are an inspiration! Now that I'm needing to totally set up a new shop, they will come in quite handy. I only wish all of your organization related posts could be compiled for easier reference. If someone more computer savvy than I knows how to do that, I'm all ears..(eyes). It's probably a simple task for most. I'm lucky to find the computer's on/off switch.

Great idea, Gene.  An album of organization ideas!
