You  guys may laugh but I have this knack at organization from playing with Lego Bricks as a kid.  My stuff fit on a 30x50 table and was quite tall.  To build and not constantly look for pieces I organized every single Lego piece in trays and bins and such.  Then to build with the pieces enhanced my sense of structure and form.  Years later woodworking seemed logical just on a much larger scale.

 

 

I am thinking maybe a new category of SHOP ORGANIZATION may be called for. Note to @John Morris

Great idea, Gerald. Except for one problem. A new forum entails a new moderator and, time on the corporate jet is already too limited.

 I thought same thing. Then one day at work a customer shows me one of my own posts. Says it's a good idea and he planned on using it.

 

Just never know.

I'm certainly an old dog, but I would read it for sure.  Always looking to steal good ideas.  And it could be a good reference for those just starting out.

Many times I see something you guys post and that triggers a brain cell to working. And that idea leads me to a solution for something I am working on.

Shop WHAT???

Not so much for the old foggies but for the newbies and like Gunny I sometimes take a idea and add my own twist to it to work for my situation.

Before my Father retired as a aircraft mechanic I would go and have supper with him at the airport.  You would be amazed how much stuff they cram in a small compartment.  Got alot of ideas seeing how that was done.  Also got razed alot, seems he told the guys all about my exploits in Iraq.  Never mind he just had to go and brag about my Ukrainian wife was smoking hot, yada yada yada.  Talk about being eaten alive.  Like being thrown into a viper pit...
