September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Wow! Last Friday of September, another month almost gone! I'll be out mowing shortly, wondering if it might be the last time this season. ...Guess I'd better get the ......"SNOW" blowers checked out to see if they're ready. ...SOoo..., What's on your weekend agenda?
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Still packing!! We've got just four days left. Gonna be tight. We'll be in Tucson on the 30th. Closing on the new place on 10/7. Then, it's a$$ holes and elbows all over again.

Have you posted any information about your new digs yet? I may have missed it, did you get your shop, are you both pretty happy with the new place?
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Finished the rocking horse, yesterday. Rolling pin time! Need to make more pins and holders.

Folks are flooding into AZ from the west coast with pockets full of $$. We spent weeks traveling all over southern AZ looking for a place within our budget. We had other criteria, too. Within the city limits of Tucson was out of the question. It had to be rural. A shop or a large enough area to build one was a must. We preferred a stick built home. What we settled on was a 4 bedroom 2260 Sq ft. manufactured home with a 20X40 shop on 1.6 acre. The area behind the home is all 6' chain link fenced with two double gated openings and one man gate. It's VERY rural. We're just minutes away from the Saguraro National Monument West. The closest town is Marana, AZ and we're 45 minutes west of there. Tucson is an hour. But, my mesquite supplier is just 45 minutes away. As opposed to 4-5 hours from our old place in Snowflake. It has some problems. It needs new shingles and the HVAC is iffy. But, the house itself is very nice, if way too big. But, it came in at $67K under our budget. So, we've got room for the needed repairs and some improvements. The first of which is a doggie door. Priorities, ya know.

Sounds like a dream to me. Sorry for my CA buddies jacking the prices up on you all over there, we are experiencing a net loss of our folks leaving the Golden State. But, I am glad you found something in your budget, and with money to spare. For sure get that doggie door in right off! Thanks for the check in sir.
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Going to the range this morning to shot the Mosin for the first time. A little mist now but range has cover. Then later have to go pickup freezer the wife finally found, change the outlet for it and raise a shelf about an inch. Then if time straighten the shop up . It is still a mess from doing video out there last Saturday and just got back from visit to my sister. Most likely still in clearing space to start on a coffee bar the wife wants.
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Not that I've been getting all that much done, but i am under orders to kick back for a couple of days. Some "minor" surgery yesterday left me with a suture line that Doc doesn't want to pop loose from any exertion. This started out as having a small cancerous spot removed from the side of my nose, but covering the hole that was left was an exercise in stretching the leftover skin back over the wound. All's good...but I look like I was in the ring with Muhammad Ali.
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Finishing up last of toolbox trays. Then on to a end table build I have in mind.
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Got an email this morning that I'd won a Jet Tools Give-away. Yoo-hoo! Opened the message. A bit disappointed that it's a hat and shirt. Oh, well, better than nothing, worse than a shop full of tools.

Send some pix of the new place shop

September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Cradles are complete and awaiting pickup and babies. Might rest tomorrow or build a 15” x 20” cutting board. Haven’t decided which.
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Those cradles are really nice, well done. A couple of heirlooms setting there.
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Have a box to get finished up....might get the lid fitted tomorrow...Garage sale today, then was taken out to Lunch, by my Daughter.... Garage sale? Garage had 5 tables inside, loaded with tools that Gunny would like...as for me? Kind of needed those 2 clamps LAST night....$1 a piece = $4 for today...Awl with the flats is a Stanley, the other is a Cresent.....for use whenever the line ahead of me is moving too slow, get the point?
September 25, 20205 yr Popular Post Almost have all the yard debris out by the curb. Today, blood pressure dropped and it has taken me all day to recover. Have contacted local wood turners club to pick up free pecan along with all the crotches. Will rest tomorrow and maybe turn a couple of rolling pins on Sunday. Or, at least, get them roughed in. BTW, does anyone think that these EWT gouges are strong enough to turn a small bowl? I robbed a piece of pecan to see if I can make a bowl for my son.
