Extreme, to say the least. Not to this red neck's taste.

Very talented individual though. Imagine what kind of stuff he makes with that set up.

3 large router tables.

Plus a 7 ft by 11 foot assembly table.

It may look extreme, but, if I'm a customer and I walk into that shop, guess who's getting my business? :) Craftsmanship on full display in his shop, I wouldn't even need to look up references, this guy gets my business!

I want nothing to do with who ever owns that room.

While it may not be to our taste to have as a shop, the craftsmanship is obvious, does anyone have anything to say about his work?

Yeah I definitely have room for improvement. :D

That’s a pretty impressive shop. The family wood shop I grew up in was about 1900 sq ft and that looks a little bigger. Certainly very well equipped but it looks like a one man dream shop. What I mean by that is that all the fixtures are super high end wood working. As a commercial operation it would be impossible to keep things that pristine and get work done. From personal experience employees are not that nice to the cabinet work in the shop. It would mean being very careful and probably slow everything down to a crawl. Makes making money difficult.

It is, he's not in business from what I can gather, he loves his hobby though. :)

I bet he did, what a fantastic way to show your love of your hobby, hey, some woodworkers get ridiculous with their tools storage such as Mr. Studley did with his chest. Just look at Mr. Fleet as the Studley of our time, but instead of a tool chest, he did it with a shop!

That is a work of art!

@John Morris Studley had a reason for the case, had to take tools to work on the pianos.

Now I have a friend who used to be as retentive (anally) as this guy but he has slacked off the last couple years and sometime I see dust on his truck and in the shop. So that lead me to think this guy does not do any work past what is in the shop. He spends all his time cleaning. Has anyone ever seen a used shop with no dust o tool on shelves and pegboard?

Gerald, I cannot believe the negativity that surrounds this mans shop, we don't know the story, he probably cleaned the shop for the video shoot? Also, he does do work, I have seen his name tossed around on another forum board, and there is a man who knows Mr. Fleet personally and stated a whole lot of beautiful projects come out of that shop.

On that same forum board, I saw the same negativity towards his shop as I seen here as well.

I'd like to say as well, lets say there is a scenario where a grown man's hobby is to make a shop like this, this is what he does, his hobby is his shop, so what! He's happy! And the furniture in his shop that houses his "things" is well made, excellent craftsmanship, and that is what should be enjoyed in this video, instead we get comments like, "bet he doesn't build anything", "how can he work in a shop like that", "what an anal retentive guy he must be", and none of us have even met the man, Mr. Fleet. I have watched several of his videos thanks to Gunny introducing this one here to us, and he seems like a very enjoyable wonderful man, I'd be proud to have him as a neighbor, and I'd be bugging him for some training, because he has a lot to show us, and a lot to teach, I can guarantee ya all that.

As far as Studley goes, he did not have to make a chest that ornate, to carry his tools, but he did, is he anal retentive?

Gerald my friend, I just wholly disagree with your summary, that's all. Nothing personal. Love ya man! :D

I'll leave ya'll with this thought, if Mr. Fleet was a member here, and showed off his shop to our community, would you be making the same statements that you are now? He's a woodworker for crimminy's sake, and his passion should be celebrated, not disparaged.

I often get told I spend too much time making nice stuff for the shop.  :D Don't care, enjoy the process and bragging rights afterwards.

But I do try to clean up some when taking final pictures.  Just not much. :D

Seeing stuff like this just makes me want to try something else new.

After more reading on Mr. Fleet, he remodels high-rise office buildings for a living.
