July 17, 20205 yr Popular Post Good Friday morning everyone! ...Just realized today would have been my 41st anniversary in the automotive industry, if the plant was still here. As to what's going on around here in S.E. WI....Got in a few days of "Curb Shopping" now it's time to sort. We're preparing for a weekend heat wave with temps in the 90's and dewpoints/humidity in the mid 70's, heat indexes over 100°. ... I guess I won't be doing much! I think I'll be hiding in an air conditioned room. So what are your plans for the weekend?
July 17, 20205 yr Laying in a hospital bed recuperating from recent surgeries. 2-3 weeks to go, what fun!?!?!
July 17, 20205 yr Popular Post @Charles Nicholls WOW, I didn't realize you were in for an extended stay. Maybe we can get your lathed moved to your room!
July 17, 20205 yr Popular Post YIKES hospitals no good and too danged expensive. EESH. Friday lets see pizza try out a new game going for the Sniper game this round and possibly some turning this weekend. Just depends on what I feel like doing.
July 17, 20205 yr Popular Post Best wishes for a speedier recovery Charles! As for me, I'm finally back to some woodworking in the shop. I've been tried up with some re finishing/ refurbing some outdoor furniture for my wife....not something I like to do but it was a Covid project. That's done, and first up is getting a file cabinet built to match a desk I did some months back. This isn't a particularly challenging project, but it will still be fun.

July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post I am looking forward to getting back home and getting on the lathe, but I think that’s gonna be a while yet hopefully not too long.
July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Got this fully assembled this evening. Tomorrow evening I will have a Police SUV in my driveway waiting for me to get home.
July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Charles hope it all comes out well for you. Did not get a lot done today but made progress. Dr appt in AM , Sold club lathe at noon, back to shop and take apart some things I had made for club that are no longer needed. Got the platter fixed so not a rocker anymore, ok maybe a little tip. Started carving legs on another turned vase. Tomorrow a club Zoom in AM and then more shop time.
July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Weekend plans? Paint and yard work. I got all the moulding hung up in the LR area, so now it's time to move all the furniture to that end of the room so that I can work on the DR area moulding. MBR ceiling has been textured and painted, will be painting a strip around the outside edge - maybe today. And then I need to make some moulding for the MBR. @Charles Nicholls - hope you get home soon buddy!
July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Got to ready the house for a couple showings. We have to be gone for each of them. That shoots today. Hopefully, tomorrow is free. Had to clean and reset all 40 of the cutters on the Shelix head, yesterday. Tedious and time consuming. I used my Makita cordless to speed things up and, I managed to cam out two of the star head screws. Luckily, it was on tightening. They'll stay in place until the replacements arrive. I didn't realize the torque that Makita has.
