Good Monday Morning!

Good Monday morning Patriot Woodworkers! What did you get done over the weekend, and what have you planned for the week ahead! Inquiring minds want to know. Please tell us what's happening in your shops, your life, and any events going on with you. Thank you for being here folks!

This past weekend was a bunch of errands for me, doc appointments all day Friday, then running around town Saturday with my daughter to pick up painting supplies for her room, and we helped grandma with moving a tv up to her front room, and Sunday I took a breather and got lazy, watched The Patriot with my son, and I viewed YouTube videos on Longrifle building. I did walk out to my shop and I went through the contents of a Kennedy machinists chest and it was filled with mainly watchmaker supplies. I have three of these chests that I inherited a couple years ago. The chest are really nice, high quality. The contents are interesting and I may be able to use quite a few of the relics in my upcoming gunsmithing agenda.

Having finally got my wife's outdoor rocking chairs cleaned and painted, I now start on her redwood glider. This one won't be painted (at least not with tinted paint), but coated with some clear coat...if i ever find an untinted oil base paint that will dry clear. I should add: I kept putting these jobs off because "I didn't have time". After I started on the rocking chairs I realized it wasn't really the time factor that caused the delay. This stuff really sucks.

Today I'll probably be doing the backstroke around the yard, if it quits raining.

This customer brought 3 kids in to see this bent part. Nobody knew nothing.  Then he mentioned nobody drives anymore. Buy your own cars since the guilty party won't speak up.

Silence.  Unbelievable. Below is picture. Tape measure is what we will call straight. :D just bent itself right?

Good move.  If they wish to drive and destroy, then they can do it to their cars.  I bet that thing pulled to one side.

With the toe in it had to have, it probably danced side to side.

Oh yeah I drove it in. Was fun. Tires screaming the whole time.  Tape measure showed 4 5/8 inch difference front to back.  Preset to zero before sending to alignment rack. Wasn't but 1/8 inch off. Not bad for a tape measure alignment.:D

Never allowed my kids to drive my car.It was my means of transportation for their livelyhood.

Had my bum knee drained, this morning....supposed to make it feel better....we'll see.

Clamps came off of Box #2..and cleaned it up...test fit?

Man you have it all.  A live stream in the shop.  Wow such luxury.  :JawDrop:

Won't do a lot of good unless you stay off it. Man what a way to clean the shop, just float it off.

Monday was the start of doc week.  Had an MRI done in the morning on my lower back.  This "thing" going on with my back has had me in various states of discomfort since mid-December.  I can walk in the lawn, for example - mowing with the push mower all afternoon and I do "ok".  A walk through Lowes though, or simply working in the shop - and my back and legs scream at me:( .  Been doing the PT exercises right along, but no real improvement.

After that appt I picked up a new set of hearing aids.  More bells and whistles - still won't wear them in the shop...

And then my truck wouldn't start:(  Had it towed home and I have ordered a new fuel pump for it.  So I spent a bit of time between rain showers unbolting and sliding the box back to give me access to the fuel tank.

I plan to do some yard work today if it dries out, if not that I need to go over the porch swings and tighten up any loose screws and such.

Wednesday is more doc week.  Dental appt in the morning, then over to get the results of the MRI and see what's in store for me.

Thursday is r&r the fuel pump.

Friday continues doc week with a stress test in the AM.  Just being pro-active here as I have a family history of heart disease.

Wish you the best with the stress test, sounds like you could use some good news in an otherwise not-so-good week.

That's how you do it Cal! We have to be our own advocate don't we? I hope your test goes well, and I sincerely hope and pray the rest of your week goes relatively better, for sure. Hang in there man!

If I could get some time off I would head down your way to get the fuel pump done.  Boss said no.:BangingHead: can't even get unpaid time off.

@steven newman,

That "stream" is mild, you should see my basement after 5" of rain.

And of course the sump pump decided to play games. :(...:BangingHead:

Wow, Cal! Doesn't sound like a fun week(s). Productive, though. There's always that.

Draining the knee didn't help a whole lot.....and it is filling back up, again.....can't find a "comfy" way to sit, stand or walk.

Can't fish in the Dungeon Creek, either....

Take an electrical cord and drop in the water.  The dead bugs and stuff, that is protein, BAM you have a meal.  :JawDrop:
