Aw, shucks, Artie.  You mean all the posts I've made don't give you anything unwanted?  I am going to have to try harder.  :cowboy:

Come to think about it, if anyone wants to foist a pound of twenties on me, that would be okay. :)

Old tale, but in following up the librarian who order the book stand has retired, and her replacement hasn't bothered putting any work on the stand as since then the pandemic has severely limited the number of visitors to this library.

As for CNC jobs I do, I'm also retiring at the end of this school year.  I'll be the last of 3 furniture design professors who all worked together over the last 40ish years.  The new folks are, well, a different generation.  I suspect the 3 Probotix CNCs I oversee will eventually join the (amazing) forgotten tech our college has had but abandoned when the professor who acquired and oversaw it retired or otherwise moved on.  We had a scale wind tunnel for testing architectural models , a heliodon dome, a virtual reality half-dome with 180 degree projector, sand casting, glass fabrication, and much more.  An industrial sized multicam CNC still remains, and is used almost constantly doing all sorts of doing flat 2D and 3D work.  When the new teachers requested a fancy Panto-Router for those challenging jobs I pointed out that all they could imagine needing one for was already possible with how I'd jigged up the small CNCs.  No one has taken me up on offers to show them how though.

Not likely.   I have two CNCs, and and am currently looking around for a small house with a big shop space.  That or a large shop with a small apartment.   I'll admit I have an addiction to making furniture I've designed, and maybe I'll start a YouTube channel.

Hope everything works out. Once you retire you'll soon wonder how you ever had time to work. Doesn't pay as well but expenses go way down too b/c you don't need clocks or calendars:lol:. Plus you can spend more time here.

Go for the YouTube channel too. I suspect there's plenty of demand for your knowledge and skill sets.

I am looking forward to your increased presence on here!  I've certainly enjoyed my retirement, I highly recommend it :D

YouTube channel? Hell Yeah!

Taking inventory of all my crap, I realize I have a decent (perhaps obscene) collection of photo/video cameras and photo/video lights.  I used to record performances by music classes taught by my sister who taught music at the local middle schools.  I come from a family of hams, so although I don't much care for my own voice or video presence, I can easily put some woodworking entertainment on the web.   I don't need any extra income so feel no pressure to make it a profitable effort. Just something more to keep my retired mind busy.

Taking inventory of all my crap,

We'll have none of that harsh language here. :rolleyes:I'm sure you meant to say "...all of my accumulated, under utilized, hoarded 'oops, collection of tools and equipment which I will finally be able to use like I had planned during the last 40 years..." yeah, that's what you meant...

You misunderstood me.  "Crap" is short for "Collection of Relatively Applicable Products".

It does actually surprise me how much gear/toys/tools/etc., I've accumulated over the last 40 years or so. I need an easy way to abandon most of it.  Dragging it all to my next residence can't happen.

There is a "truth" out there that any horizontal surface will eventually become covered.

It follows that any empty house will eventually become full.  Both have clearly happened to me.

I remember a point when my grandparents went through the house grandpa had designed and built and they lived in for 50+ years, and took most things, a carload at a time, down to their local thrift store/granny's trunk to donate. They downsized to a small apartment, taking just a fraction of things when they sold their home.
