March 4, 20206 yr comment_220434 A really nice piece of work and a very functional unit. However, I missed the runners for the drawer. I will review it a little later. Report

That's a right smart little box there Steven, what will you use it for? Re: staining the inside of the drawers... have you ever used any dyes? I've taken to using water based dyes with a few coats of thinned shellac on top and have been very pleased with the results. The alcohol smell goes away quick. Report

March 4, 20206 yr Author Popular Post comment_220490 Drawer runners? drawers slide on plywood floors. Nothing fancy. The lid is 12-1/2" x 8" and is 1/4" thick. Rest of the wood started out at 5/16" thick...by the time they were all planed smooth...they were at 1/4". Right now? I need to go and buy a brush or two....to add a coat of varnish to this box. March 7, 20206 yr Popular Post comment_220737 The reason I asked about the drawer runners, I missed it. I went back and found the plywood separator. I designed a box almost like this for a widow next door who also lost her oldest son. She wanted a box to put his merit badges and shirts in from many years ago. I am going to make it from cedar and it will be sealed so as not to color the contents. Thank you for showing me this box and your process. I will copy this. Thanks again for another great job and sharing how to do it. Report
