Mother’s Day weekend will be a bit different this year for the first time in my life my mom want be there. She passed away last June.

However I have a most wonderful wife and she is an awesome mother to our children and grandchildren and we will most certainly celebrate her.

Today though I’m in the shop pushing to get inventory ready for our first show of the season. Cutting Boards are on the agenda this weekend and next week.

Finished this stack yesterday and have a batch in the clamps now. 8AB3520D-B21E-4B7A-97EF-21B30DEEBEDA.jpeg

As as soon as these come out we have another batch ready for glue up.

And then the ones coming out will join this one as they pass through the drum sander.

So we are in a cutting board run at the moment.

What’s on your agenda this weekend? If you are getting any shop time share that and if you can I hope you get to spend time with your mom.

Have an awesome weekend and whatever you do have fun and be safe.

The new laser arrived yesterday but I cant get to it yet. Got a complicated project on the bench. it's so complicated I actually had to make some measurements WITH A RULER! Not only that, but I had to write them down. This could take a while.:BangingHead:

Hoping to get in the shop tomorrow, got a couple cars today that need some service, I'll be taking those in, then just hanging with the family, bouncing around like a pinball making em all happy, and in between we'll get in the shop and make some shavings hopefully.

Be safe ya'll!

Meanwhile, have you all seen our downloads directory lately? It's getting some pretty neat ol Workbench Magazine plans uploaded into it. https://thepatriotwoodworker.com/files/

You don't know the angst that overtook me in that process. And, admitting it here is worser.:BugEyeSmiley:

Looks like a good day to get back in the shop.  A rainy day and nothing to get in the way for a change.

Coming down from a busy election week.  Tomorrow I’m doing a show near here.  There’s a lady that has a store that sells bath bombs and all things estrogen and she does a big sale in the spring and fall.  She invites local artisans to set up in her courtyard and last weekend she called and asked if I would set up.  Did I mention that there is no booth rent?  Might be a bit cool but we’ll see how we do.

I am working with wood, and making sawdust but for forms to lay some concrete.  My spring project is to rebuild the deck off my building.  Had to tear it down when we cut the tree in the middle down.  And as always several improvements to be made.  New deck is smaller but it has been 20 years since I built it so I have picked up a fee tricks and some knowledge since then.  Who knew?

You ever crawl under one of those dabnab 2018 Honda Pilots? I don't even know where the oil goes.

I used to work on my vehicles, when they had a regular motor that you could climb into, and hang your legs over the inside of the fender and lean over and wrench. I used to repair my ol trucks that had a carburetor and distributor with wires. Man, I miss those days.

I currently own a 2008 Corolla beater that I drive to and from work, I have a hard time working on that too, actually I don't. I recently bought mama her Honda Pilot that she loves, I was raised with the values that the man of the house should never have a ride nicer than the lady of the house, and it's true in our home, but dang, my ride looks rough! But it gets 30mpg hwy.

I am going to sell my Corolla sometime in the near future, and use the proceeds to help by a classic truck, I really want to have on old Ford or Chevy, 40's to 60's vintage, stake bed would be cool, but I am good with a pickup too. Perhaps something like this:

1949 Chevy Thriftmaster 3800

I could work on that! This one is selling for around 5000 on craigslist, sell my Corolla for a couple grand and I wouldn't have too far to go for the rest.

They are Larry, it would almost be worth the drive out to the Midwest if I found one I liked out there.

@John Morris,

Stick to areas they don't use salt in the winter. My 2000 Ram only has about 80k on it, and I'm not sure if it will make 100k due to the rust factor. Colorado area has some decent buys.

porches are done...and Yard Sale Season has started in.....a "Bandit" has to do, what a bandit has to do....

"Watson, wake up!  The game is afoot!"

John, how about an 04 F250 4WD dual cab with a V10. Gets between 5 and 10 MPG, depending on the day, but, the ride sure is nice. I'll make you a good deal. ;)

John looking in Gene's area might be good . Finds one in the desert with a little surface rust and fix it up. That would give you something to do with your spare time. Oops! What spare time?
