Worked (barely) enough stamina to give a presentation at the woodworking club today, on picture framing.   Some of the background information here:

and a worksheet to use when you are building frames, matting and cutting pieces:

I remember families when I started to first grade bringing their children to school in those old Chevy trucks.  That inline 6 is a work horse.  No AC or radio and if memory serves me correctly, only one tail light on the left/driver side of the truck that doubled as a tag light.  Oh, it was tag light, night light and brake light.  I think it was one bulb with 2 elements.  The tail light was also the element that was also the tag light.  Does this even make sense?  :(

Some great info there Keith, thanks for sharing it.

I finished up some glassware yesterday that I had been working the design on.  Got to get them packed and shipped out tomorrow.

Our kitchen project continues.  With most of the new subfloor in, I have gone to the other "extreme" and worked on the ceiling this past week.  Patched areas where I had removed a walls and have laid out where new recessed lighting will go.  Just laying out those light locations took most all day.  Starting with the location of a ceiling fan, lets put 4 cans in these spots - nope, to close to a joist.  Move them, nope - too close together.  Move them again, and again, and again.  Then it was lights over the sink and kitchen counter; two lights or three?  Three it is.  Oh, what will this all look like with that new wall beside the refridge... and start all over:wacko:

Todays task is to cut out the holes for the lights, move the fan outlet box and patch the old hole and sand off the prior repairs.  This week I would like to roll the texture and paint the ceiling in the kitchen and 1/2 bath and move on to the next part of this project.  Fortunately, momma is not complaining (yet).  I keep telling her to keep her eyes on the prize - the finished kitchen...

John Moody, don't you just love it when its time to change the sand paper on those drums. I finally got to get a 22-44 open ended drum sander and now the 2 drum enclosed bugger

just sits there not saying anything.

John Morris you are in the best place in the US to get old autos even though they are usually much higher than most other states....not counting southern Arizona...less rust to worry about when it comes time to rebuild one.

That's a great point Jess, they are very clean here in Cali when it comes to rust, and the money I may save from buying an out of state classic, could get gobbled up in body repairs for rust. Thanks for the tip!
