April 5, 20197 yr Popular Post @John Morris I loved your post on the corn hole boards and using your SS. Nice job on the boards. We just finished two more sets the past week with these being made of Poplar. One Alabama set and one Auburn set. We purchase the logos from a licensed dealer for the customer and install them before we spray finish. We have started this week getting ready for our show season to start. Last night I was getting cutting boards ready for my son to glue up today. And he was working on this large piece of Cherry to make a Mantle for a customer. Looks like a busy weekend for us and that’s what I like. So What’s on your Patriot Woodworker agenda this weekend. Love to see all of the projects you built and your process. It inspires others and that’s what we like. Im off this morning early to a men’s Bible Study so I wanted to get this up before I left. What ever you do this weekend, have fun and be safe.
April 5, 20197 yr Popular Post Thanks John! And coming from the master maker of this great American game! I love your boards though John, the use of individual boards and the logos. I should have made mine from poplar, they would have been lighter than my ply boards, those actually turned out kind of heavy. Have a wonderful day all!!!

While they're drying, I'll prep some mesquite for a whiskey presentation box. The weekend will see us riding some mountain trails.
April 5, 20197 yr Popular Post Road Trip today....might try to get a tray done, before Monday.... Ever hear of a Metric adjustable wrench? Amish Sawmill to the west of here seems to be doing fairly well.. They added that sawdust shed to the left...to catch all the sawdust...they added that metal awning to cover the rails where the logs get piled up... Just to the west of the sawmill..maybe 3/4 sof a mile...they be making pallets by the flatbed load....And several of the new Amish houses have wood siding... haven't stopped by to see IF they sell any of the lumber...yet.

Still working on the offering plates. Today was a nothing day . Spent all day in house while having a tankless waterheater with a recirculating loop put in to replace 2 twenty year old water heaters. And it is not quite complete. Did go to the shop for a hour and worked on the finish of a platter for my sisters BD next weekend. Also redoing a trash drawer into a drawer to hold cookie sheets. Almost got that done , just have to install. Also this week we went live with the new website for our turning club. Take a look Magnolia Woodturners . Edited April 6, 20197 yr by Gerald

If most of their lumber goes into making pallets they may not have the kiln, but they might air dry the best of what they get. Be worth checking into for sure. 9 hours ago, Gerald said: having a tankless waterheater with a recirculating loop put in Gerald, what is the purpose of the recirculating loop? I don't know much about tankless heaters or plumbing, but when I think about a recirculating loop I think the user end is a long way from the heater - or that hot water is needed "on demand" like a hotel. Or is the tankless heater just a "booster" to a larger overall system that you have?

You need to stop in...I'd be very surprised if they won't sell you some lumber. Just don't take any pictures...at least of the people without their approval. Most all Amish shun having their pictures taken. OTOH, they probably will let you take pictures of the operation, but ask permission first. Good folks; just choose a different way of life. Shrewd business wise generally...but fair.

Tried to stay clear as much as possible today...oldest grand-daughter preparing for and now at her Senior Prom. Made trip to the County seat/BORG...pretty good "black-Friday" sale...bought one of these... 22', type 1AA rated 375 lbs...$99/ regular $219 Sunday, church, lunch, some errands, maybe some garage time; supposed to rain most all day...we need it too, it's been almost 36 hours since it rained last.

Hey Gerald, I really like this page, https://mwt.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=96005&module_id=341029 I see an empty space in there, perhaps a link to a great woodworking community would look good there.
April 7, 20197 yr Off to the shop to get another coat of finish on my hidden cabinet build. Nice day outside so I can put the door outside to cure well.
