Decided to take two deep drawers and reduce in size to 3 1/2 inches deep and managed to squeeze a 3rd drawer out of the same space.  This cabinet is mostly supplies, or stuff, some might even say junk.  :)  What matters is  have it when I need it and can get to it easily.  Few days before finish is done on new drawer and top edges refinished on the other two that I cut down to size.

Made a few boxes to fit inside the new drawer.

Had these in another location.  They go in drawer #2

Spent the week in Picayune, MS and Slidell, LA on a mission trip doing work for Northshore Disaster Recovery, Inc.   A team of 5 of us built 3 sets of decks and steps to replace ones that were rotting through and we literally lifted the deck boards up with our hands as the nails were rusted through.  Oh, and while two of the guys were finishing up the last set of step risers, I built a couple of stools/tables/grocery platforms from the cut-off pile.

Good on you and all the rest. Great looking work and extra nice touch re-cycling the scraps into something useful.

Thanks & blessings for sharing your time, talents, & resources with those having need.

Part of the problem was that there were a couple of inches of pine needles on top of the boards, keeping them perpetually wet.   I also debated with myself that we should leave a spacing between the boards, figuring both that they were pretty wet when we got them but then it's swampland of Louisiana.  I gave up on the debate of grain crown up or down.   I finally just ignored and picked the better side up.

@kmealy

Pine needles will eat up roofs and decks and cause mold and mildew and moss to grow ramped.

The decks look great ,Keith, maybe not so good in a couple of years.

I live not far from Slidell and well know about the oak leaves and pine needles.  If a person wishes, you can sweep them with a broom on the deck.  Also a rake on the roof if you have a ladder.  Putting a ladder against the side of the mobile home and use an electric blower gives great results.  The last I knew you don't want to walk on the roof of a mobile home.  But, really beautiful work and a good job of re-appropriating the extras.  Thank you for giving of your time and talent to those who need it.
