January 29, 20197 yr Popular Post comment_176120 Got my new stuff put away and decided to go in a different direction on a piece I had started. This pecan bowl looked like a good candidate for a colored rim. First layer with black and sand off. Second layer is red and sand. Next is yellow sand and then touch up with red. Now for lacquer. Using Chestnut Stains on this one. More May take a day or two since the winter gets here tomorrow. Report

It is alcohol base and also has shellac in it . Comes in nine colors. Not sure I will get on it again today as a little under the weather. Report

January 30, 20197 yr comment_176298 Thanks Gerald, I'm going to look into to this. I have some quarter round on my baseboards that need replaced and the red & black looks like a perfect match. Report
February 5, 20197 yr comment_177149 IDK, must have dozed off to have missed this. Awesome color with the pecan. Amazing how if accentuates the grain pattern(s). I really enjoy seeing your experimentation with colors; always unique and quite enhancing. Hope you are feeling better by now. Can't wait to see this when completely done Edited February 5, 20197 yr by Grandpadave52 typo Report
