Popular Post John Moody Posted November 30, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted November 30, 2018 Here we are at the last weekend in November. Where has this year gone? Seems like a few weeks ago we were wrapping up the season and here we are again. Our shop hop has been busy these past come of weeks readying for our final show of the year, Sugarplum Marketplace. A three day show that started yesterday and runs through Saturday evening. Yesterday was a busy day for us and we more than covered our booth cost so now it’s on to selling out. Cutting Boards! Slab Boards and some signs made on the CNC. Breadboards and Cheese Boards. And even a few Porch signs that have become popular! What’s on your agenda this weekend and as we head into the Christmas Season? Share your projects with us and post those pictures. Love to see what everyone else is working on and the wonderful craftsmanship that you all bring to the forum. Whatever you do have fun and be safe! Popular Post DAB Posted November 30, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted November 30, 2018 i just wrapped up the last project for our house this week. it's only taken 8 years and one month to get it all done. so now i'll have to go invent things to do in my shop. may wander down later and dig thru the hardwood scrap pile and see if i have enough parts and pieces to glue up into a bowl blank. and if so, i'll then turn a bowl in a few days and give it away. it's kind of happy and sad: we're all done! kitchen, bathrooms, cabinets, tables, bookcases, small stuff, baseboards.....hmmm.....what happened to the guy who got everything he wanted? he lived happily ever after. 12 drawer storage cabinet for my office. pre-finished maple plywood, wood grain ceramic tile top, edge banded with wormy maple. 72" long, 24" deep, 36" high. full extension drawer pulls. Popular Post Gene Howe Posted November 30, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted November 30, 2018 @John Moody, I'm constantly amazed at the uniqueness, quantity, quality and variety of your work. Do you ever sleep? That's gorgeous, @DAB. The top is just great. And that spalted/wormy maple is a nice touch. The mesquite slab table top has been sanded from 80 grit up through 600. Ready for the first wipe on coat of 50/50 Watco and Spar Varnish. It'll get three coats, each heavier on the varnish. Then, a final coat of straight varnish. Should be done by next Wednesday. Then the Shelix head swap on the planer. DuckSoup, Dadio, Cal and 2 others 5 Quote

Popular Post DuckSoup Posted November 30, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted November 30, 2018 Sitting here wondering where the month of November went, wow. Shop time involves clean up. Youngest Daughter is hosting a Christmas gettogether for her employees at her own house, first one. I'm making some puff pastry pinwheels w/ prosciutto, roasted red peppers & Romano cheese. Stuffed mushrooms w/country apple sausage & beef smokies wrapped in slanina bacon. I think the holiday shoppers are already stressing them out. HARO50, Stick486, John Moody and 3 others 6 Quote

Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted November 30, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted November 30, 2018 Granddaughters have a swim meet tomorrow morning. Oldest grandson will be with his Cub-Scout troop working on their float for the Christmas parade. The parade is Sunday afternoon in our County seat. Historically, it is very well attended and a pretty good parade for a county of ~36k. Hope the rain holds off during the parade. Not much else to report but enjoy seeing & reading everything all, y'all are getting done. Better than any magazine or WW'ing show on TV. Thanks for entertaining me. Popular Post Gene Howe Posted December 2, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted December 2, 2018 Here's that mesquite slab after 3 coats of the home brewed wipe on finish. One more coat of pure spar varnish followed by a coat of JPW and it'll be ready for the legs. Son wants to fashion them from metal. Fred W. Hargis Jr, John Moody, HARO50 and 4 others 7 Quote

Thanks, Lew. Don't know when he'll get to those legs, or whatever. He's slower than I am. But then, he's still working for a living. Cal 1 Quote
