September 14, 20187 yr Popular Post Thanks for all the prayers and support. Luckily, haven't lost power yet but expect to do so at any moment. Ventured out into the shop to sand a farm table I am refinishing for my daughter. Had stripped it earlier and sanded to 120. Sanded it to 220 today except for the legs which are turned. Going to put them on the lathe to assist with sanding, but can't get to it as my porch furniture is stored in the shop due to the storm and is blocking access. It is a Pottery Barn table made of pine (thankfully not rubber wood). Daughter wants it beachy so I going to used GF White Wash stain on it and then spray it with GF High Performance. That will have to wait awhile until the storm passes and yard clean-up is finished. Hopefully, no house repair will be on the to-do list.

September 14, 20187 yr Popular Post got my neighbor's little counter top trim piece cut to length and installed today, he finally had time to let me in. secured with some trim head screws. let him borrow a repair crayon to hide the holes and then he also has my poly and 2 brushes to apply some poly to it, now that it is in place. pretty good match to existing trim and cabinetry. he's happy. we got all done, he asked "how much?" "nothing, just say thanks" "really, ok, thanks" "you're welcome" cost me about $1 in materials. and it was a good challenge to match the stain color. don't charge neighbors for little things. duh.

September 15, 20187 yr Doing fine. Power is still on. A good deal of rain but not like further south in Fayetteville. Lots of mandatory evacuations going in the Sandhills and lower Piedmont.

Happy to hear you've still got power...saw a little on the news tonight several new mandatory evacuations have been put in place. Some areas have been still are getting hit hard by the rain and storm surges. Hope things hold for you...it's going t be a slow & long recovery for many.
