New Member Joining Vetting Process (Resolved)

Featured Replies

Is there an established (written or otherwise) process for new members to join?

I ask only because when I joined I was vouched for by Stick and was immediately accepted into the community (Thank You)!!

So if I'm referring this site to others is there a vetting that must be done if they wish to join?

None that I am aware of, shoot - if there were I might not be here!:o

It does help if they have an interest in woodworking though...

There’s not a vetting process per se but......  our software automatically looks at a new members IP address and checks it for prior “offenses” of spamming.  There’s a blacklist out there believe it or not.  If a new applicant is clean then they are a member. Sometimes an applicant gets a mark against them and an admin has to review their info. Hope that helps.

Ditto what Ron stated Smitty. I am surprised though that you got in the door with a reference from the likes of @Stick486

Welcome to our community, and, just to clear things up, we love Stick.

As far as credentials, all are welcome, all walks of life, from all nations, all creeds, all races, sexual orientation, and all the in between's, you like woodworking, you're in! Even if you don't like woodworking, you're in! Just as long as you are a decent human being (that could be up to interpolation by our current membership :D) and you like to be friendly with those around you, you are in!
