OK, So the gettogether will be next Saturday and still appears to be on track (more on that in a minute).  So yesterday in the mail was a package that had me puzzled. We buy a lot of stuff on line, and I get USPS/UPS and Fedex notices of deliveries, and I'm generally aware of what's coming. But this one I had me puzzled. So it shows up and lo and behold, one of our members made some gifts and sent them to add to the pile of stuff from the forum sponsers. I'll keep details of what this really cool gift is secret until we hand them out, and then post what (and who) back here after the event. My way of trying to entice others who might want to attend to show up. (For those who wonder what I'm talking about, more info on this thread.)

Now, about the "on track" statement.  I've mentioned my wife's health problems from time to time, and that's also why we'll have to wrap the event up maybe earlier than I would like (the 5:00 thing). But Wednesday she wasn't feeling so well and called the Doc. After describing the problem, she got to see him first thing Thursday morning. He wasn't able to diagnose a problem and ordered her to the hospital for tests and observations. She was released yesterday, and everything is (probably) fine. Seems she was a little dehydrated (symptom of the other problems).  Not grubbing for well-wishes here, this is a big part of my life and often preempts other things. It was a bit of coincidence, but Ron Dudelson called me about the event and the swag bags we have while I was driving home from the hospital. So, the event is still on and all's well here. Looking forward to seeing everyone next well!

Glad the Mrs. is doing well Fred.

Wish I could be there next week!

Good to here everything is well.

The baker is picking up supplies this week & with the coffee we should have plenty to get us through the morning.

My offer still stands for any riders, west through Akron, & Mansfield, route can be adjusted.

Thanks, Duck. Pete, John and, I'll meet you just west of Albuquerque. :cowboy:

I better check my map, I might have to leave a little earlier.

Thanks Fred. I'm sorry to hear the Mrs. was having some difficulty but is doing better.

While I'm looking forward to this event and still so very appreciative of your generosity, PLEASE PROMISE you will postpone or cancel should your wife require your full attention.

Her health and well being are far more critical & important than a bunch of "old geezers" jawing about the good old days. Without a doubt we all want this get-together to be as easy as possible for both you & her.

Good to hear your bride is feeling better.  Thanks for hosting this event for the members.  Sure wish I could be in two places at one time so I could attend.

No problem with that, Dave. Should something go awry my priorities are with here. Thanks for the thoughts.

@Fred W. Hargis Jr, you have unknowingly prompted me to open a forum for Meets and Greets, I have a feeling this may become a tradition! I am moving all the meet and greet notices to this forum.

So thanks Fred for all you are doing, this is a wonderful volunteer effort you have undertaken.

I hope the best for Mrs. Hargis and prayers are out her way as I type.

As you know Ron is bringing some wonderful swag items from our sponsors. I wish you all the best in this First Annual Patriot Woodworker adventure, and it's a tradition I hope will carry on for years to come.

Thanks Fred for everything!

Fred, the health of your wife is paramount and we will adjust accordingly.   After all, all the good tales will be swapped in the first 2 hours.  I’m really looking forward to meeting these folks.  May this be the first of many gatherings.

Hi Fred - so glad to hear the Mrs. is doing better!  As others mentioned, please keep her well being as top priority.  I will check this thread prior to leaving in the unlikely event you cancel - but then again - my wife wants to see some of the interesting sites in the area - so we most likely will be heading that way anyways!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!
