May 1, 20188 yr Author Here are two of those tiny screwdrivers, from Bridgeport, USA.. Patent number, No.1 Phillips and a few other items stamped on the shafts. A new latch was bought, too. Had the push drills all set up, in case they were needed.. Almost forgot,,logo.. But, since I also got a few brushes, decided to varnish the box, inside, and then the outside...PIP? Will wait until after the varnish is done, then switch out the latches...using the same screw holes...then post as a Project..maybe Stay tuned.

Must have been more from the outer portion of the tree than the heart wood?? Looks good...did I miss what "we're" going to store in this fancy box? Inquiring (and delusional) minds like to know in case there is a test at the end.
May 1, 20188 yr Author Ok, Nickle Tour of the finished box, coming right up. Second and last coat of Gloss Poly has dried, and been rubbed down, new latch installed....open the lid.. And then look inside.. Got tired of looking around for the tiny hardware AND the screwdrivers. There is a "false bottom" on the left side....note that screw sticking up? Use that to lift the panel out.. More tiny hardware, and small nails. Close the lid, when everything is back in place.. Front view, and a .. Only thing left to do, is find a spot to keep it handy...

I went through twice... 29 minutes ago, steven newman said: Only thing left to do, is find a spot to keep it handy... Turned out great. The molding really fancied it up a couple notches... Just make sure it gets top billing (placed on top of ???) so ya's don't pile more stuff on it. I'll do my best to remember where you put all the tiny hardware for when you don't. Thanks for taking us along the journey...keep it up, you may finally shame me into building something.
May 1, 20188 yr Good job Steven, like Dave says, might have to make a box to gather up all the hardware in one place. You really are going to have to drill a hole in the end of the tray for that screw driver, or cut the screw driver down a tad to fit into the tray. Herb
May 4, 20188 yr Author I thought I could add a couple handles to the box.....make it easier to pick up and put away....( in theory..) Decided to see what Hobby Lobby had.... However..the store is not a safe place to drop me off at.. $9 and change....just imagine an entire aisle of this sort of stuff...nope, not a safe place for me to be.... Big handles for the ends of the box.. And, something to lift the lid with. I even picked up a bag of "spare" screws....just in case...
