March 15, 20188 yr This is truly a magnificent bowl, there is so much waste of wood. I saw a video where a guy used a curved cutter to remove and save the center wood to make smaller bowls.
March 15, 20188 yr Awesome!! Making a tumbling block cutting board is difficult. The extra effort here created a beautiful bowl!
March 15, 20188 yr Those are beautiful and impressive, segmenting is something that looks really difficult to me. Can't imagine doing something that. Steve
March 15, 20188 yr To me just getting the line is enough glue and then to glue on both sides too. Too much good wood in my part of the country to spend that much time.
March 17, 20188 yr I'm no turner but the next time I use this pattern for a jewelry box I'm going use his method for the glue up and then just slice to the thickness that I need. Fewer pieces to fit together.
March 20, 20188 yr I tried one of these but your angles have to be dead on. If you're off a hair it compounds with each piece. I've got the one I tried in the closet and kids are always telling that they want to do one like it but I always tell them no. I'm not into punishing myself to work on glueing one up for them to destroy.
