Made my first lidded box. It is salted maple. It is around 5.5 inches wide a 4 inches high. The only finish I put on was Shellawax.

Some body aught to give me a lathe so I could try that... Maw has been wanting to buy one of them canister sets but I think a guy could do them on a lathe.

 For a one timer you done yourself proud....

Thanks everybody. I have been watching a lot of videos on youtube. I was very happy that I was able to get it fairly smooth with the tools.

We built our kitchen out of wormy maple, aka ambrosia maple. 

Looks great Rusty!  Does this mean that you have purchased your bandsaw?

Yes. I made it round on the bandsaw before I put it on the lathe.

Thanks Jim. I made it with homemade carbide tools with the EWT carbide cutters.

@Jim from Easy Wood Tools...Rusty was very innovative & creative making his tool holders as I recall. Maybe he'll re-post a picture or two. He did make them specifically for EWT cutters though.:P
