They can explain things better than the doctors, in some cases.

Today was a profitable Monday.  The designer that contracted me to build a pair of bookcases met me at her clients house and I delivered the bookcases.  The money is always nice but it is always very satisfying when those purchasing your goods trusts your skills and likes what you have created.

Ron, I've never made anything to sell, but the appreciative smile from the recipient of what you've created  surely warms you inside.

That looks familiar to the rocker I rebuilt for a close family friend a few years ago. I bet that one has been around for awhile.

I’ve given away more than I’ve sold.

Interestingly enough, the joint where the arm meets the upper back on the side is slightly loose and at first i was afraid it was a screw in there;

but i looked a bit more closely and it turns out it looks like a rivet with a washer on the inner  side.

Think I got the furnace/boiler issue resolved after long day yesterday.

Functioned OK all night and so far this AM.

May still need to replace the thermostat...TBD.

Sure was nice to have comfort all night and this AM...probably gonna' take a nap in a few to celebrate!

Wake up Dave. It's getting too warm in here.

Nap time in about 3, 2, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

stepped outside my "comfort" zone today, made a bandsaw box.  glued up some scrap oak last night, this morning cut out a heart shaped box.  glue is setting now.  will sand later today and then put on some finish (just poly).  plan to give it away.  it think it'll turn out pretty well for my first try.

pics when done.

Looking forward to the pics, DAB.

*I think.

fat fingers and edit time expired....sigh.....

got the first coat of poly on after some sanding.

some oak scraps i had laying around.  i think i bent my bandsaw blade.  oops.  time for a new one.  it grabbed the work and stopped the wheels.  had to shut it off and pull it off the blade.  that's when it got bent.  lesson learned.

i'll give it away sunday at the pistol match.  will fill with some candy.

Pretty good for outside the comfort zone. That is a nice smooth curve.
