July 17, 20178 yr Popular Post I needed a small box to hold my Breathe-Right strips that I wear at night, since they changed the box not to come apart in the middle any more. Grabbed some scrap wood waiting for the right project (cherry). Cut some miters, grooved along the bottom edge, bottom board with tongues all around, glue it up, had dinner, sanded, and sprayed on two coats of aerosol shellac between TV shows. About 2" tall. I used a favorite trick technique to glue up the box. Get some packing tape and lay it sticky side up next to the table saw fence. Lay down the pieces in order, as tight as you can get them and flush to the fence. Add some Titebond No-Drip, No-Run glue to the joints, rolled it up, checked for square. John Yeah, I told my wife that I was going down to put another coat on. She wondered what happened when I came back in the room -- it took longer to go to the finish room and back than to spray on the finish.

July 27, 20178 yr Author Popular Post Here's a couple more that I finished up today. The end table (actually a "dough box") between where my wife and I sit needed some add ons. The divided one is to hold remotes, glasses, etc. The other one is a nice "trash can" where we can toss the junk mail and not have it on the floor until we get up and carry it to the recycle bin. Both hard maple, black walnut miter keys on the big one, shellac finish. , Edited July 27, 20178 yr by kmealy
