June 2, 20179 yr Popular Post I'm standing in for my southern buddy and fellow admin, John Moody today. He has a full Friday between working as a range officer at a local shooting range and he has a "First Friday" artisan's show today so tag, I'm It. I'm sure he'll chime in here at some point. This week was been crazy busy for me but I've only spent a few hours in the shop. My daughter and son in law are celebrating their 20th anniversary in Hawaii so we are taking care of the grand girls for a couple of weeks. They range in age from 11 to 16 and are a riot to be around. When they hit our pool, I sneak to the shop. I'm trying to build stock for a July show right now and this week I built a prototype walnut charging station. So, on this holiday shortened week I have to ask, "What's on your weekend agenda?"
June 2, 20179 yr Popular Post Not a lot, got a new wood burning pen so I may practice with that a bit. Our wood turning club meeting is Sunday so I'll make sure everything is ready for that, taking my two decorative platters for the show and tell. I got a new Thompson 3/8" bowl gouge in the mail yesterday and made a handle for that. Plan on ordering one or two more in the near future so I made the handle removable to switch between gouges for sharpening. Steve
June 2, 20179 yr Popular Post Spent most of the day at the VA clinic and shopping. Did manage to get the new Shopsmith fence assembled and aligned. Now I'm too pooped to pop. Tomorrow it's jig making time. That's after another round of gopher patrol.

As usual, my sanding/finishing was the final straw. What makes it worse is that I "salvaged" the piece from 3 catastrophes. Should burned it after the first.
June 3, 20179 yr Now recovering after a catastrophe. Jimmy Clewes had a flight problem for the second year and we had to cancel the event. Just not to be I guess. We will have our regular club meeting tomorrow. Right now am totally wore out after calling several to make the decision and then sending out all the emails announcing that.

Spent most of the afternoon cleaning & re-arranging one bay of the garage...found stuff I didn't know was missing yet. I may try to hit a few yard sales Sat. AM after taking recycling to center; then more cleaning & rearranging in the garage...It's fun surprising yourself with the things you find; Still have some L&G equipment to tune-up...I have way too many seasonal small engines...

June 3, 20179 yr Popular Post Not much time in the shop this week (shortened work week means I still get my 60 hours in, tues-fri) My sister meet me halfway from the coast with my dad (he cannot drive iutside of his home town, per the doctor) and we went back to medford for a weekend of rodeo. This has become a.tradition and i think it may be his last trip over here for rodeo
