We just do not have that opportunity around here for lumber like that. Makes me a little jealous...

 

That is the way to handle the logs though. When I cut firewood, I use an excavator to hold the log off the ground at a comfortable height to buck it up.

What kind of wood and where do you live? I could buy some? Whats the delivery charge? Lots of questions!

Looks like walnut, Maybe been on the ground 3-5 years. Am I right? Looks like some great lumber.

Should get some spalted lumber from those. Good find, can't beat the price either.

Some walnut, white oak, Poplar and hickory. I think there was one Elm in the group.

I believe you are right Gerald. She said it had been around three years. She was afraid snakes were going to be in the pile and it was close to the house.
