Maybe this was made before the "Fencing Pliers" came out? Besides, made a good self-defense weapon.... After all, these are just...pliers.. Utica 1932 - 10-1/4" From Utica NY, USA Dad's pliers. The "hook " was more for digging into a post.. Staple puller, hammer, two sizes of wrenches, two sizes of wire cutters. Cowboy all-in-one tool. Wrench part was also to splice wires together. Is actually a electricians tool for hanging wire. Knob and tube, later bx and Romex. Staple puller helped i n replacing lines or mishammered Staples. I agree the hammer with the hooks is for rolling timbers on a Alaskan sawmill instead of trying to roll them with just hands. Quote
steven newman Posted December 12, 2016 Report Posted December 12, 2016 Well, at least it is NOT a Bisaigue.. Fence pliers, Cowboy tool Kit. Farmers around here used them all the time repairing farm fence rows. The old Staple puller? Might have been for those big staples used to hold the Lightning Arrestor cables. Them were the HUGE ones.... Quote
RustyFN Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 The only thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned. It's an old tire bead hammer for breaking the tire loose from the rim. Dadio 1 Quote

I have 2 power wagons w/ split rims '44 and '67 and the tire tool kits contain nothing like what's here... on the flip side it could be a European tire tool.. or one from yestercentury... Dadio Posted December 14, 2016 Report Posted December 14, 2016 I think we are scratching for straws here. To me this tool was used for something way before anything we have had in our lifetimes and long forgotten. Hebr HARO50 1 Quote
Popular Post HandyDan Posted December 14, 2016 Popular Post Report Posted December 14, 2016 Could also have been a single tool made by a blacksmith to someone's specification. Something such as a silversmith or coppersmith and used to stipple the inside of small bowls. HARO50, RustyFN, steven newman and 3 others 6 Quote
