Yea, Captain Eddie is where I learned about the baking soda. Our club president taught me about doing the worm holes with a sandblaster.

Thanks, Cal Cal The worms, or whatever, leave a powder behind when they are burrowing. It's not stable, doesn't take finish well and has to be removed, typically with a wire brush, dental pic or other mechanical means. The sand blaster, using baking soda will eliminate the powder without damaging the surrounding wood and is much quicker to do. Steve

Steve If you don't get that out of there, the only other thing you can really do is let some thin CA glue soak into the trails, so that it solidifies that powder, but again it wont take finish well in those spots. Some like the trails not cleaned out though.
