Lew I saw in your "turned round" picture, your set up for your vacuum when turning.  

Does that work well? Do you use all the time or just for sanding? I've been thinking about

a vacuum set up, but haven't come up with much yet.

The one at the lathe I only use for sanding- when I remember. I'll take some pix tomorrow to show some other dust control around the lathe.

Lathe DC when Sanding for me has also turned into loose grit management.

If I don't cover the bed I end up with grit adhering to it  in places where I can't wipe.

Then when  I slide the head tail or banjo - - - !@#$%#$%#$#$$%#$~!!!

I looked at your vacuum set up and it looks like I used to use in my old large shop. I ran some overhead lines when I could and used the cardboard tubes that carpet comes rolled in. Carpet dealers tossed them and they are an exact fit. One caution, cardboard don't conduct and you should run a wire to the next metal piece, if it is a problem. I never had any problems

When I first set up the dust collector, I ran grounding wires thru each run. Seemed like the jointer/planer line always clogged because the shavings caught on the wire. Finally just ripped out the wire. No problems so far.
