  1. I am ashamed to say, I have never heard of this man, my gosh, true heroism. On Oct 17, 2005 SFC Alwyn C. Cashe was mortally wounded, willfully allowing himself to burn to death in a heroic attempt to save 6 of his brothers in arms trapped inside of a burning Bradley. SFC Cashe, covered in fuel, rushed to the vehicle, igniting himself. He heroically struggled to lower the ramp, all the while on fire himself. Upon the lowering of the ramp, SFC Cashe, still on fire, entered the vehicle 3 times removing his trapped and dazed brothers. SFC Cashe died on November 8, 2005 and was awarded the Silver Star for Valor (post) on Nov 11, 2005. Please, honor SFC Cashe as he honored all of us with his selfless ultimate sacrifice. RIP, brother. SFC Alwyn Cashe's Medal of Honor is long overdue WWW.SANDBOXX.US The 2021 defense budget included four names that had been granted a waiver, enabling them to receive the Medal of Honor...

    Remarkable piece of wood

I posted this a long time ago, before we had a large membership. I'd like to show everyone this piece. I had a wood burner in my old shop in Ohio. As I tossed wood in, my eye caught something in the piece I was throwing in. I managed to catch it. I couldn't believe what I saw. A star in the center of this half rotten, spalted apple.(about 7" dia) The picture you see is the final project. I was able to make 6 of these and gave them to family members.

    Cradle

I have PIP photos of several projects and this is one I was very proud of. This is a cradle I made for our grandson 12 years ago and he is almost as tall as me now. Mainly went by a NYW plan. I changed the rockers slightly and added a star inlay, for which I wrote him a poem which his mother framed. This is the side with finger joints cut. and shaping . This is the template I made for the star. A little practice . The finished inlay. Fit together and sanding. Rockers added Finished product Yes he did sleep in it a couple of nights. and they still have it.
