Many years ago, one of my first woodworking projects was to make a set of coasters. I found some nice tiles to inlay. A few years ago, I made some for my children and the best I could find was solid colors. I went looking yesterday for some that were decorated more than just a solid color. A huge store had three times with lines, and only one type in stock. Anyone know where I might find something decorative like my early ones? Amazon has some "Mexican" ones that are way too elaborate.

A buddy of mine who I worked with, and now works for my wife. He is an RN as well. He has dedicated himself to our country and has some pretty tough assignments. He always has a smile easy go lucky personality. So I was playing around with some files and settings. So, as a very small gesture of appreciation for his service I had my wife give him this slate coaster..

I'm getting ready to apply some Tung Oil to a little project. If you can call it that. I took a scrap piece of wood from something I was doing, sanded it down for a coffee cup coaster for my desk. Anyways, I've never applied it before. I've read on how to apply it and that jazz. However, nothing that answers my question. My question is this: After I apply the oil to one side, how long do I need to let it dry/cure before I can flip it over and apply the other side?

As you know I am making my daughter a couple of end tables. My wife suggested I make a couple of coasters with their alma maters in them. The roommate graduated from Lafayette, the Ragin Cajuns…I hope to do my daughters sometime today.
