Cottonwood spaulted dyed



Cottonwood spaulted and dyed with layered yellow and green. Note that green area on the spault was only dyed with yellow. Used Chestnut Stains and finished with lacquer.

Beautiful piece Gerald. Great decision to use the color dye especially with the spalting.

You transformed a nasty old piece of cottonwood into a piece of art.

@lewnot sure on the wall thickness but this one is very thin, less than 1/8.

Thanks @Grandpadave52 for the comments Seems Dye is usually the best alternative for cottonwood, bur the spault can also speak for itself.

That one has it all. Beautiful wood, awesomely shaped and finished by a master. I am not a fan of cottonwood but, this piece makes me reconsider.
