18th Century Connecticut Blanket Chest



I cut the planks down during the original stages of this project so that the knots would land in the center face of the chest.

I finished the chest with boiled linseed oil followed up by Amber Shellac.

Thank you for sharing. I definitely like the bottom design of your blanket chest. Is it difficult to make those curves?

Not at all Jack, it's quite easy, time consuming yes, but anyone with any experience can do it. It's just a matter of making a pattern, and tracing your lines.
