I am so ready for a weekend and a few days rest from therapy, not that I won't be doing it here at home this weekend, I just don't have to go through the measuring. Today was a good day and I spend about 15 minutes on the knee bending machine.

So it moves back and bends the knee and then straightens back out. I was able to get 111 degrees of bend today so I am making great progress, but I have to get to at least 120 before the Dr. will release me. After a day of therapy and the bending machine, the bicycle and them helping me bend and measure it, I was ready to get in the chair and rest it. When I am up on it for a little while it swells up pretty good.

Enough of that, I did get a little while in the shop today. I finished taking the finish off a night stand for a friend of mine. First time I have been in the shop much at all and I really enjoyed it.

I even had time to do a little clean up on a Stanley 1910 No. 5 I have been working on for a while. Still got a bit more to do to have it ready to cut and put on display but it is coming along.

So I have a few more grits to go through and hope to get to do that this weekend and finish this one up. I have two more in different stages on the other bench.

What is on your weekend Patriot Woodworker Agenda this weekend? Are you starting a new project, rehabbing a new/old tool, working on your shop, doing home improvement or spending some time in the lawn? We love to see what other Patriot Woodworker are doing and enjoy it when you share your projects with us. So don't delay, post those projects and project pictures here and so us what you are working on.

Putting stain on the bathroom vanity. Probably won't be dry enough for poly until Monday. That will give me time to work on the drawer boxes.

No woodworking for me but hopefully someone will appreciate my handiwork. I have a lot of stock at a show in Indy this weekend but mama and I are headed to a concert tomorrow night. My kids bought me two tickets to see the Steve Miller Band and Journey. Sunday and Monday we'll have house guests. Our former Japanese exchange student and her family are coming to visit. Can't wait to see her. Skype is great but ...........

Your knee looks great John, the cabinet looks great, the plane looks better!!! Great work man, and what a fun day in the shop. I have a couple old planes I am chomping at the bit to get too, heck I am chomping at the bit to get in my shop period, but now I have my kitchen sitting in my shop right now from our flood! I won't get much woodworking done this weekend if any at all, but we will be working on getting ready to get our woodworking community transferred over to our new site very soon. Mainly my job this weekend will be honey do's around the house, cut the grass, repair a rotten old post that supports our deck. Hope all have a great weekend, stay in safe your shops, and respect the wood man!

The color of that knee bothers me John. I hope it looks better in person than the pictures.

As for what I am doing this weekend, I am still making pens after taking a few days off from that, I still have 6 or 8 to go.

I had another project that I was going to do but I found that the wood had split underneath the wax so it was not a sound piece that I could use, oh well maybe he'll come back for something else. It was supposed to be an old style pill box of sorts.

So what are the rest of you doing? :)

Mark - been there - done that - got the T-shirt - BEFORE it was call the "Tail of the Dragon". When the wife and I (2 up) used to do it on our Goldwing, it was still called just "Deal's Gap". Super great motorcycle road during the week - wouldn't touch it now on the weekends - too many idiots.
