October 10Oct 10 comment_381779 I imagine if you load up both drawers it will have enough weight to not tip when one is opened. Report

DP post or floor.alternately, if you got a sheet of 3/4" plywood, at least 2x as deep as the cabinet (say 36 inches), same width, and tied the cabinet to that, it would solve the tipping problem. same reason tall drill presses should be bolted to the floor or bolted to a large sheet of plywood (like mine is), to prevent tipping of a top heavy item. you could remove the casters, bolt the cabinet to a plywood sheet, and attach the sheet to the casters, so it's still mobile, just it won't tip forward. October 10Oct 10 Popular Post comment_381782 @DAB that was my first thought but I don't have the DP bolted to the floor either. For now I added an unused 25 pound weight plate to the back (just enough room!!) and that actually seems to be very stable when loaded. More of a bandaid that gives me a temporary solution. What a project! 🤣🤣🤣 Report

I will need to get the DP secured as well once I'm sure of the "final" location. Still shifting some things around in the shop as I'm seeing how I work in the expanded space I picked up when we moved the workout equipment into the house. Overall I think I'm close, but need to get better functional working areas setup. In particular, want to get something to avoid crawling on the floor to break down plywood sheets. Is there ever enough horizontal surface?!? Report
October 11Oct 11 Popular Post comment_381788 I'll be starting a new scroll saw project; a large ( 24" x 36" ) sign with some lettering and a couple of Graphics. I'll be using mostly spiral blades on this one as it's oversized ( my SS has a 22" throat and I can't spin a piece that large.I'm mildly annoyed with my local OfficeMax; when I called to confirm that they could print locally I was told their large format printer was down and they didn't have a timeline for if/when it would be repaired, grrr. So, nine sheets of 11 x 17 paper later... Report

October 11Oct 11 Author comment_381798 One political party must be worried. We're getting political ads for candidates that are not even on our November ballot. (They're candidates for districts other than ours.) Edited October 11Oct 11 by Larry Buskirk Report
