Thought it was Thursday, that's what I get for thinking. Ho_Hum.thumb

So, What's on whats left of the weekend on your agenda?

I thought today was Friday! Thanks for the reminder Larry!

This is Saturday ROFL

The only reason I know is because I watched Saturday Morning Cartoons!

I watch cartoons every morning.

I have totally enjoyed the Grizzly customer appreciation day (Friday) and tent sale (Saturday). I found some great deals on small items on Friday.

Today we hoped to find a bandsaw at the "scratch and dent" but that didn't work out...but did find one new and in the box (and on sale for the event).

The real highlight was meeting Russ Filbeck. My husband and I saw him unloading on Friday morning and offered to assist. We ended up visiting for quite a while. Today he worked with me on the first steps of a shaker box. Also observed some turning and sharpening. Was so wonderful to hear his story and try to absorb as much info on woodworking as I could. Also chatted with someone who had done several chair making classes with him. Would love to do that! His chairs are amazing - beautiful and comfortable.

Well I thought it was Thursday yesterday. For anniversary we went to farmers market and in addition to veggies also found ice cream. did a little work in garden after a small shower passed thru to drop temps by 10 degrees. Dang just remembered we did not get to the big W to read anniversary cards to each other.🤣

Happy anniversary Gerald and to the Missus as well.

I'll echo that Happy Anniversary message. I need to remember that trick about going to Walmart and reading the cards to each other!funny1

Only as long as that "Fancy Meal" comes from Kwik-Trip!

Last leg of the theater set construction. Getting frustrated in that the most complex and significant piece did not start until about 1 hour before shutting down on last session. Manager ignored my drawing, and added several changes at last minute, including adding 1.5" to the radius of spiral steps. I think we need a new person.

Today, I ran in and did some upholstery work on a bench that has been on my to-do list for a month.

So, was looking at where would be best to setup my new drill press. Noted in the manual (page 20) that 30 inches is the "minimum" space between the back of the tool and the wall. Any thoughts on why so much space is recommended?

Diagram from that manual:

Wrote "bandsaw" when I meant drill press..

Just curious but that diagram looks more like a drill press?

Yes, corrected.😬 Guess I had my new cart on my mind...for my bandsaw! Finally got that in place and attached to the cart.

That motor (maybe) moves in and out when you change speeds (moving the belts over the pulleys) unless it's on of the new electronically controlled models. If it's the belt/pulley type (like mine) that movement isn't really that far. I've had mine just a couple of inches from the wall for probably 30 years and haven't suffered any problems in all that time. I wouldn't worry about the 30", just make sure you have clearance for any movement of the motor.

Will have to check on that aspect. This drill press isn't the electronic option as that was more $$ and expensive to replace if something goes wrong. Only have had a small Harbor Freight DP until now so this is a big upgrade. It is pretty heavy so trying to figure best placement before full assembly.
