May 12May 12 Popular Post comment_376076 Haven't we had this conversation before? Working on the medicine cabinet amongst other things. Got the door done. Had to patch a knot hole rather than epoxy.Awning I ordered for shop door came in and got that installed. Was a lot cheaper than what the company that installed building wanted, probably smaller too. May 12May 12 Popular Post comment_376098 Thanks for the fill in Steve!Been a hectic week and last week, sorry for not checking in guys and definitely sorry for the Monday topic lapse, been crazy around here. Since May 2nd, it's been a flurry of activity in the ol Morris home, Tonya's 84 yr old mother toppled over (again) but this time it landed her a 6 night stay in the hospital and a very concerned daughter who was on the phone constantly with family in Panama checking in and kind of doing the big sister thing from our home and being the control tower from 2200 miles away directing siblings etc etc. I've been filling in since that day for household duties among other things going on in our life, it's had me as busy as a one armed wall paper installer, scratch that, a one armed one legged wall paper hanger. Panama seems to have come out of their 3rd world country designation, but reality on the ground is different, it's still operates like a third world country and that goes for the medical system as well, and man let me tell ya, if you end up in that neck of the woods, and get hurt or sick, stay away from the govt subsidized medical facilities and clinics, you may as well just dig yer own hole and lay down in it. If you are down there and need medical, be sure to search out privately run facilities and their location before heading down there. Unfortunately because of her families financial status, they are bound to the govt facilities and it aint pretty.Last Friday I dropped my wife off at the airport to fly down to Panama and help her family get through this. And let me tell ya gents, one day ran into the next and I am finally out of my "what the heck just happened" coma and I am back in action. I literally sat on the sofa the last 3 days watching mind numbing YouTube videos on sailing and woodworking and where to move for retirement, occasionally I'd get up and feed our pets, fix myself something to eat, and I even managed to do some in depth yard work on Saturday and yesterday. Sunday after Mass I managed to muster the energy to clean our home since it had been neglected for about a week. So, thanks Steve for the cover! 😁I am once again a bachelor till the end of the month, if anyone remembers I bach'd it just before the holidays when Tonya ran down to Panama for a month. And I seemed to survive. So I'll survive this one too!Hope everyone is safe and sane and life is good. I don't have any updates on @Grandpadave52 since I've been out, I'll try to catch up on his challenges.Cheers! Report

May 14May 14 Popular Post comment_376192 Little project for a thank you gift. At the volunteer project, a local lady provided all sorts of baked goods to fuel the builders. I thought a cookbook stand might be appropriate given her baking talent. This one is maple with a metal handle (YouTube idea) to hold the book open. Can be easily adjusted for different thicknesses and stores flat. May try one more with some oak or walnut and see which one I like best. Report

Could you please provide the dimensions? And after the first one, would you make any changes other than wood choices? Thanks. Report
