April 6Apr 6 Popular Post In light of Easter, I would love to see what cross projects others have designed. I'm working on a new one inspired by one I saw from "Self-Taught Woodworking" (in glueup now). Here are some I've built over the years: Used some of the corners left from making frames. IThis is a larger one (22+ inches tall) that is made from some pretty walnut that is in our kitchen.
April 6Apr 6 Excellent all around @BB1 Barbara. Great use of small leftovers. The top picture using the small corners leftover frames are really nice especially the one using all the walnut. Thanks for sharing.
April 6Apr 6 Author Popular Post I've made many but unfortunately didn't take photos. However this is one I made recently that probably had been seen before in my post.

April 6Apr 6 That is a great collection of crosses. Mine is turned. Had to do a lot of research when I started doing them as to proportion. This is a old pic but basics are still there
April 6Apr 6 @MrRick really like that cross design, and the wall hanging above the cross is really great too.

April 6Apr 6 Author Actually the cross used most by Ancient Rome was a " T ". Sometimes they used what is familiar today. It depended on the one to be crucified and the type of cross that yielded a specific torture value. Gruesome!

Also saw this a few places: "The horizontal piece is 1/2 of the height and located down from the top 1/4 of the way." Thinking that width also plays into merging the two recommendations.
