April 1Apr 1 Popular Post And neither do I! Take a few salvage drawers, a pair of arch topped raised panel doors, a case salvaged from a previous attempt, a 35-gallon cardboard barrel of Oak cut-offs obtained from a Trim-Carpenter, and a few glass panels from a crashed pool table lamp then just start building. So, what does doing things this way get you? These photos were taken next door during the watching, and listening to MinWax PolyShades Classic Oak finish. So, just what the heck is this mess? There's still a top section that I didn't take a photo of yet but will in the future.

April 2Apr 2 Author Power was out for awhile, doesn't look like I'll get anything done out in the shop today called for most of the day. Have to go check why there's no internet next door so they can open the store.
April 2Apr 2 Author Mounting the monitor in the cabinet made it a bit tight to get at it's power button so I made up a teeter-totter lever to actuate the switch. There's also an Oak piece mounted at the top of the monitor that I'll be two-sided taping my remote power, and remote KVM switch to after the finish is applied. The big plate that I'm mounting off of is for adapting larger TV's to a wall mount. I'll be adding a blank type writer type key to the hole in the little block below the monitor after I get the finish applied. (More watching and listening to finish dry ) Well what do you know, it works!
April 14Apr 14 Author Popular Post @John Morris or @lew Could you possibly change the name of this topic to " TPW Airship Control Center"? Here's what I started with folks. It's a 17" rack cabinet that was retired from someones home security system that I claimed when Bruce drug it back from one of his "Curb Shopping" expeditions. Added a bit more, but far from done. This photo shows the remote power switches, and the remote button for the KVM switch. This photo shows the Wi-Fi antennas for both PC's they mount magnetically to fender washers super-glued in place. This photo shows the remote USB ports for the keyboard and trackball.Still looking for a few pieces to add for trimming out the rack cabinet.More later,...

Found (Linux) software that will work with hardware that wouldn't work with anything beyond W7.BTW I had W11 running a couple of days ago, and SWMBO asked me to leave the computer on for her. When she started using it she asked "What the heck is going on here now?"I informed her it was on Windows and she said "Change it to the other OS please".

Unfortunately there are still software publishers who have Windows proprietary apps that will not run even when running thru a translator. And, fortunately, smarter people than me have figured out how to delete the bloat either before or after installation. Like many people, I have Linux running on a virtual machine and enjoy learning about it and would make the switch if my applications would work reliably.

But for now as far as I'm concerned Linux has Windows beat. BTW I did our taxes using Linux.
April 16Apr 16 If I could just get rid of Intuit products, I’d probably be ok. Of course all of the “emergency” phone calls would still be about Windows 😂
