Here's a cell phone stand I made and then another for my wife, another for my son, and now my daughter and her friends have lined up for one. I've many many different kinds but this one is a hit.
It's simple really but very handy because it's flat and portable. It can be carried in your pocket or purse. I made it so no matter how you take it out for use it's ready to go. You only have to orient the slot towards you. That's all!

It's made out of Pine. It's 1-7/8" wide x 4-1/2" long x 5/8" thick. The slot was cut with a 3/8" dado blade and tilted at 25°. I adjusted the depth on scrap before finalizing. For reference, the back wall is a depth of 1/2".

You can mount your phone vertically.....

.... or horizontally.

When your phone is mounted, the depth of the slot will not prevent access to your controls.
It work like a champ!!

Thanks for looking!
Cheers!

Excellent, simple, and a great use for small scraps of wood. Proof that a useful and desired object doesn't have to be complicated. 🙂
