February 20Feb 20 Popular Post Well what do you know, we made it to another Friday! After two days that made it into the 60's we're back to winter for the time being. I did manage to get a little bit done on my computer case build after putting another motor on the old table saw. Couldn't figure out why it kept tripping the thermal breaker until the hornets/wasps came crawling out of it. Didn't get any photos due to misplacing my camera when I moved stuff around. Don't have a clue where the heck I put it. So until I find the camera,What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
February 20Feb 20 Popular Post I have a sideboard project that has serpentine drawers. I was finally able to get some MDF this past week and have started making a form for the bent lamination drawer fronts. I'm still a little apprehensive about doing this but thought I'd give it a try.
February 20Feb 20 Popular Post Headed out in a bit for a haircut. That'll take all of 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, several errands while in the "big city" then back to our county seat to pick up a couple Rx's.Tonight, oldest grandson has an away JV basketball game. It's about 1-1/2 hour drive so it'll be a late night. They won Tuesday's night game; 3 game winning streak and 4 of last five.Donut expect to accomplish much tomorrow; church Sunday, assuming of course no power outages or other fiascos emerge beyond the 1" of snow forecast.
February 20Feb 20 Popular Post Well...As it always happens, earlier this week I realized I was down to one rolling pin. I did a workshop for the local turning club a year or so ago and created a bunch of blanks as examples. Gathered up all the blanks, finished making the required inserts and started the cutting gluing process.Then...Phone text chimes. Next door neighbor lady- "Lilly (the daughter) has a question, when would it suit to have her show you what she wants to have made"? Lilly is directing her first stage play... @kmealy Yesterday...Answering machine blinking. "Hi, Lew! We have a 1960's reel to reel tape deck that quit working. Would you check it out for us? It was my Dad's and really don't want to throw it away."20 minutes ago...Noticed missed cell phone call. "Hey Lew, my wireless router is really old and I want it replace. I'll get one and when you have time could you set it up for me?"Just sitting here waiting for the fourth shoe to drop......

Putting sod on slope in front of shop and other places with wash beginning. May get started on shelves for closets today. February 22Feb 22 Popular Post I'm wrapping up some picture framing. I went to the local art store to get some mat board. They had black, white, and two pieces of navy blue (both damaged). Heck, I've got about 30 colors in my inventory but none in the right color or size for what I need. I may have to find a new source and hope it's not just the one on the north side of Columbus. That same company took over the store near UC that used to have a decent selection. Will see next time I'm in the neighborhood.
February 23Feb 23 Popular Post Busy but good weekend and as a bonus got to spend some time in the shop. Been on a bit of an organizing kick lately and the missus is asking to move things off the counter so I have been experimenting with making an in-drawer knife block which is actually quite a bit trickier than expected. Here is the latest prototype. The blanks are arranged on sliding dovetails for spacing and it looks like this will work out quite nicely. Now that the concept is proven time to make it pretty.

Mrs. should be quite pleased with this.
