September 12, 2025Sep 12 Popular Post I didn't see the usual "Friday what's on your weekend agenda" thread so I will just show what I started last weekend and finished this wee. A week or so ago I posted about creating some nautical decor for my bathroom. This week I added thee pieces I cut out with my scroll saw. I thought about painting them but decided just to leave them ala-natural wood. My daughter and granddaughter like to go hiking so I made a walking stick for my granddaughter out of a cedar limb and added a paracord handle grip. I have not plans for the weekend but what do you guys/gals have planned for the weekend?
September 12, 2025Sep 12 Popular Post Went Scuba diving off Grand Cayman Island a couple of times. Lots of angel fish and they have a sea turtle farm there, too.

I also have a barracuda story.
September 13, 2025Sep 13 Popular Post Long week, we had a fleet with 1/2 of their vehicles down. Was mad rush to get 14 fixed and back to them, we finally called it a day at 2100. Left 4 at the shop, my crew isn't the mission impossible team. We have limits, and they were reached.😁
September 13, 2025Sep 13 Popular Post Finally wrapped up granddaughters rear brake fiasco and some other work by mid week; replaced pads, rotors, calipers, parking brake shoes/ hardware, backing plates, rear axle seals since I had to remove rear axles, rear differential cover/gasket, fuel tank fill tube/ hoses. Managed to get a few other tasks completed in between doctor appointments and lab work, and oh, a much needed donut run😜 Weekend; more vehicle maintenance, church Sunday. For the past hour or so, just sitting out in the yard swing enjoying the beautiful fall morning watching an occasional car go down our road, birds at feeders while contemplating what I really should be doing.
September 13, 2025Sep 13 Popular Post @Bubba; thank-you for posting up the Friday topic. I hope @Larry Buskirkis OK?

September 13, 2025Sep 13 Any suggestions for a router? Been eyeballing this Bosch 1617Ev kit. Be an upgrade from my Hitachi model.
September 13, 2025Sep 13 The 1617 sure gets a lot of good press from the owner's. I'd bet you'd be quite happy with it.
September 13, 2025Sep 13 Popular Post The 1617EVS is the router I had in my router table. I highly recommend it. I first had the Hitachi but it didn't fit any router lifts and Hitachi didn't make one to fit it. Edited September 13, 2025Sep 13 by Al B

The Bosch is a well designed router with plenty of power for my needs. My old one (Ryobi I think) had the switch on the handle while my Bosch has it on the body. I think I prefer it on the handle for hand held work. In a table doesn't matter.
September 14, 2025Sep 14 Popular Post Working on organizing Ranch Shop. Loading turning wood on shelves to get all that off the floor and unload the trailer so I can load it again. My oldest helped me get the air cleaners off the ceiling last night and hope to use the tractor to mount them at Ranch. Did some dirt moving to build a new long range berm so we don't have to shoot beside the house. Just about time to switch over to packing and fixing house for move and sale.

Moving a bit slow after tripping/falling moving wood chips a week ago last Thursday. Seems I don't bounce as good as I used to. Also still dealing with the power line "upgrade", not sure if they'll "Getter Done" before that white stuff starts coming down. Have had more outages since they started than before they started.
